Hayden's pov
Today was the big race and I was bunking off school to go and pick up my bike from an unlicensed mechanic. This girl was supposed to be the best of the best and quite a few of my fellow riders used her.
"Oi, Powers!" I heard someone call and my muscles automatically tensed. I pulled out my cell, asking Dan to pick up my bike and forwarding the address before turning to face Trent.
"What the fuck do you want?" I growled.
"Just wanted to tell you that you better be prepared, wouldn't want the Bad Boy to get beat now do we?" He taunted.
"Don't worry, you should be used to being beaten my now. I'm going to fuck you up good on the track." I smirked. I was confident I could win.
"We'll see." And with that he disappeared.
I sighed, heading towards the track and waiting for Dan to appear with the bike.
Danni's pov
Normally I wasn't one to skip school, but my client was coming to pick it up this morning so half a day wouldn't really effect my education. I sat in the garage, waxing the bike and waiting for the driver when a familiar head of auburn hair walked towards my house. Shit! It was Dan.
"Wait," he said walking towards me. "Your Driving Danni?!" He asked in disbelief.
I stood up and looked at him. "Please, do not tell a soul. Normally I don't know my clients so I don't have to hide who I am, but I am begging you, if anyone found out that knew my father I'd be completely shut down." I pleaded.
He nodded. "Yeah, well as long as you done what was needed on Hayden's bike I'll keep your secret." He said.
The bike was Hayden's?! "Yeah, I changed the Carborattor, I also waxed, washed and repainted it, but that wont cost extra." I said.
Dan handed me the sixty dollars and I pushed the money into my back pocket.
"Sp do you want to come and watch the race?" He asked me. "I've got my car with me and I need someone to drive it down to the track anyway."He said.
"Sure,I'm not going to school anyway." I said. He looked at me surprised. "Fridays are my busiest day and I normally get four or five bikes in at once go be fixed up before the race." I explained.
"I still cant believe your Driving Danni." He chuckled, shaking his head.
"Yeah, this is the side to the Good Girl not many people get to see." I shrugged.
"But if you don't want your dad to know, why are you running your business from the garage in your house?" He asked.
"My parents live in LA. I basically live by myself and they only visit when its Christmas." I told him. He nodded his head in understanding before throwing me a pair of car keys. "Don't judge, she needs a little work." He said and I realised he was talking about the car.
"Well, bring her down tonight and I'll give her a look over, free of charge." I said and I carried on when I saw he was about to protest. "I'll call it even for you not telling anyone."I added.
He nodded and I walked toward his car. Okay, so he was right, but it wasn't a little amount of work it needed, it was a lot of work. I climbed in, surprised when the engine started the first time and I followed him down to the track. I had no idea how I was going to explain to Hayden why I was at the track, hopefully Dan had thought of something.
I parked his car, climbing out and followed him into the pits. He climbed off the bike and Hayden began inspecting it. "How does it run? Did the girl do it right??" He quizzed and it took everything in me not to turn around and tell him that of course I had done it right.
