"We'll get in touch to let you know our decision," a Middle Aged man with thick eyebrows smiled and opened the door, leading Alison out of the room. She had just took her job interview. Her palms were all sweaty so she nipped into a bathroom and washed them. She was only 16 so a part time job was what was needed to keep her family going for a while. She left the bathroom, still shaking with nerves, "It's okay now," she thought and then left the building. Alison turned around once more and gazed at the sign that read: 'Peggy Sue's American Diner' she smiled and then set off home.

It was all a blur after that: "Mum? What's the matter?" She walked over to a gibbering wreck and comforted the person that had once been so strong. "It's okay." Suddenly her mum snapped, "But it isn't, is it?" And she accidentally pushed Alison.

"Hello dear," Grandma leaned over Alison and smiled.
"Grandma?"
"Yes it's me," she propped Alison up and fetched her some water.
"What happened?" Alison was delirious.
"It was an accident," suddenly Alison's mother appeared in the doorway, "I'm so sorry."
It was all coming back to Alison. She had been comforting her sobbing mother when suddenly she snapped at her daughter. Alison's face went stone-cold.
"Go away."
"I'm..." Her mother was losing her breath and began to stutter.
"Calm down, now Lisa." Grandma lead Alison's mother downstairs to cool off. Alison was left speechless. "It's going to be alright. Once I get some money in the bank we will be more stable." However, deep down Alison knew that it meant much more than money. Her father was a rock in the family and now that rock was crumbling.

"I got it Rings!" Alison put the telephone in Ringo's hall down and rushed to him.
"Really? Congrats Al!" He hugged Alison and chuckled. The incident at the boardwalk had left Ringo confused. Were they now together or was it a one off thing? Did Alison really mean it? All his thoughts were shaken away by Alison, "Ringo?"
"Oh yeah, sorry. I was just thinking," he laughed
Alison smiled, "Can I see your room?"
"Yeah! Right this way," he guided Al to his room and opened the door.
"Sorry for the state it's in," he laughed
It was a typical boy's room. Messy. She smiled and sat down on the bed. Unlike her's, it was springy. Alison looked all around her at the posters of bands on his wall. There was a drum kit, a dresser and some books. But there was one other thing. It made Alison's heart flutter. The picture of the sea last week. "Oh Ringo," she gasped, "Remember that?"
"I sure do," he went to put his hand on Alison but she pulled away, unaware that he was about to hug her again.
"I didn't know you played?" Alison pointed at the drums,"
"Oh yeah, I have for a while now," Ringo grumbled, feeling foolish.
Alison saw the clock on the wall. "I'm sorry. I need to go." She frowned
"Let me walk you home," Ringo offered
"Ok then, I'd like that," she smiled.
They left the house arm in arm and once again strolled along the Liverpool cobbles. There was no raging conversation this time, they both just daydreamed. Ringo's  suddenly ended when he felt Alison's arm leave his. He saw her rush over to a blonde haired boy. She kissed him and held him tight for a few seconds but it seemed like hours. Ringo's heart shattered. "Bye Al," He turned around gloomily and walked away.
"Wait! It's not like it seems." Alison called as the boy left.
"I think we both know it is." Ringo replied. He kept walking and he didn't turn back.
