It had been 4 days since Ringo had walked out on Alison. Did he feel guilty or innocent? It was a whirlwind of emotions. Every night he would cry softly into his pillow, knowing the girl of his dreams was taken. Now and again Ringo would feel really stupid, why had she kissed him on the boardwalk when she had a lover of her own? He broke down in tears once again. Ringo grabbed his drumsticks and began to play. Free-styling. All of a sudden a beat came. He began to write it down but suddenly, "What's the point?" He's crumpled it up and threw it in his bedroom bin. Alison and Ringo had never talked since that fateful day. It broke Ringo's heart.
Knock Knock. Downstairs Ringo's mum opened the door. "Rings, you have a visitor." Ringo became really excited. Was it Alison? He quickly combed his hair and rushed down the stairs. It wasn't Alison. It was her boyfriend. "Who's this Ringo?" His mother was curious.
"Just a friend." He said, unconvincingly
"Okay, I'll leave you two to it," she beamed
Ringo faced up to the boy. He examined Ringo. Punch. "A friend, eh?" His fist planted into Ringo's stomach and he gasped for breath. The boy grabbed hold of Ringo and sharply said in his ear, "Stay away from Alison or I'll do this again and again."
He slapped Ringo and laughed evilly. Then he brought Ringo to his mum, "Mrs.Starr? Ringo has tripped and hurt his face."
Ringo shot an angry look at the boy and then held his wound.
"Oh Ringo, you clumsy boy! Well thank you for bringing him to me um... Sorry I didn't get your name."
"Ryan. Ryan Reeves."
"Thanks Ryan," she smiled and then tended to Ringo.
Ryan left with a smug smirk across his face.
