The air was crisp and the sun beated down on the necks of Alison and Ringo. Their hands interlocked as they approached the boardwalk. Even though this would be the last time they would be together for a few years, all that mattered was their love. Alison looked into the distance and spotted a Ferris wheel, "let's go on!" She excitedly begged Ringo. "Okay then," Ringo laughed and reached for the money in his pocket. The pair jogged along and joined the queue. In front was a large, bulky figure. He refused to move and just stalled, scoffing his chips. The scent polluted the air and Alison's mouth began to crave the fluffy potato snacks. "I can tell you what some." Ringo giggled, "here's some money, the shop's only a few yards away. I'll keep our space." Alison kissed Ringo and headed for the fish shop. She returned a few minutes later with ketchup all over her face. She noticed they were near the front and ran towards Ringo. She handed the box of chips to him, "I left you some for being so patient," she smiled at Ringo, who was contently eating the chips. When they finally reached the wheel they both hopped on and buckled their seat-belts. "Are you ready?" Ringo reached for Alison's hand. Before she could reply the wheel suddenly kicked into gear and their began to flip whilst the whole wheel simultaneously span around. When they were upside down, Alison dropped the box of chips and it landed on the man who was holding the queue up. He was enraged and started cursing Alison and Ringo. All they could do was laugh in hysterics. When the ride slowly began to die down Ringo blurted out, "did you see his face?"
"I know! Comedy gold." She laughed and they left the cage. The pair cautiously crept passed the man and ran into the distance."Two coffees and two sticky toffee puddings please," Ringo smiled and returned his thoughts to the beautiful girl ahead of him. He took her hand and began singing, "Love me tender, love me sweet never let me go." He blushed and took the meal from the waitress. He handed his girlfriend her food and drink then poured milk for them both. He nibbled the sticky toffee pudding and then grinned, "Alison, I have an idea for later."
He replayed the first time they met at the boardwalk and remembered what happened at the end. He wanted that to reoccur today. As Ringo slurped the last few bits of custard, which still had hints of toffee, he noticed a small tear slowly running down Alison's cheek. He knew what was wrong but asked anyway. Alison checked the clock and then replied with a broken heart, "16 hours until you go." Ringo slowly lay his spoon down and then lifted his left arm. His fingers felt the sensation of Alison's smooth, silky hazel hair running through them, "I have something that will make up for it." He pulled out some money and left it in the middle of the table. Next, he stood up and put Alison's coat on for her. As they left the cafe Ringo grinned, "close your eyes, I'll lead the way." He held Alison's hand and cautiously took her through the bustling boardwalk. They avoided the creaky wooden planks and finally reached the destination. Ringo propped Alison up and pulled out a camera, "Remember the photo all that time ago?" He grinned.
It all came back to Alison. "Yes," she was bursting with love for the man in front of her. He had been her rock and now he was going but he was not going without leaving a lifelong memory.
"Smile." The camera flashed and a photo slowly slid out.
