Stares!

All types of stares.

Judgemental stares

Curious stares

Furious stares

Envious stares

A whole showroom of stares.

And yet I didn't have an ounce of a concern for those stares coming from the people surrounding us but my mind was occupied by the warm fingers which graced the bare skin of my waist which wasn't covered by my saree.

I looked up at Rajveer who had his hand secured around my waist as I saw him looking at me with a subtle smile.

I don't know why but his smile was enough signal for my blood circulation to rush and settle on my cheeks.

After our little chat, Rajveer asked me to join him as I was alone after Tanushree left. I was ready to leave but Shanaya asked me to wait so I had no choice but to oblige her.

'Don't lie, you didn't want to leave the chance of being with Rajveer.'

I was already in the mishap of my thoughts and my subconscious was doing nothing but adding fuel to it.

"RV, there you are."

I looked up to see Mrs. Agnihotri heading our way. She smiled at me when she saw me but her smile wavered when she saw her son's arm which was secured around me.

"Dr. Nambiar, how have you been?"

She looked at me with watchful eyes as I felt like an amoeba under her scrutiny but I didn't let it bother me as I smiled at her.

"I have been fine, Mrs. Agnihotri and please call me Avni."

She gave me a smile which didn't quite reach her eyes and glanced at her son. She was about to say something to him but Rajveer's phone rang and he excused us leaving me all alone with Mrs. Agnihotri. I turned towards her pertaining my smile but she continued looking at me with her scrutinizing gaze.

"Mrs. Agnihotri, its been a great evening and with all the wedding arrangements, I really hope you haven't let your health be at stake."
