*Jays POV*
I stayed sitting on the cold steps for a few minutes after Zayn retreated up the stairs. I shouldn't have told him my name or the fact that I'm a fan. I had no idea why, but I just didn't want these boys to know anything about me, to get close to me in any way because anyone who did left me and I don't think I could go through that again. But something inside of me clicked, something that made me change my mind. What if these boys werent that bad, what if they wouldn't leave me? I sat in silence, pondering over my options and smiling when I finally chose one.
I pushed myself to my feet, but this time rather than walking along the narrow sidewalk, I turned around and headed into the house. I suppose Zayn thought I was still going for a walk because he seemed to be surprised as I entered the apartment. He was sat at the kitchen table, phone in hand, when he looked up and raised his eyebrows in confusion. I brushed off his questioning stare with a slight shrug and what could be considered the worlds smallest smile. I padded over to the fridge, retrieving the bacon, bread, butter, and eggs, before shutting the refrigerator and placing the items on the countertop.
I began to start cooking and Zayn continued toying with his phone, the only sounds were the sizzle of bacon strips and the occasional chirp of a phone signalling Zayn had recieved a text. The silence was soon broken by a very tired looking Niall who was stretching and groaning in the doorway to his room. He tilted his head back sniffing the air, face lighting up while doing so.
"Is that bacon I smell?" He questioned, eyes widening. I hummed in agreement and was suddenly shocked by the presence on my left side, holding on to me with a death grip. I smiled and turned slightly to give Niall the proper hug he deserved.
"First, I get to see Demi today and now bacon? You're like my good luck charm or something." He mumbled into my hair, causing a giggle to escape my lips.
"Well the only way you get bacon is if you go wake up the other boys. Now shoo." I swatted his arm away and pointed in the direction of the other boys bedrooms. He complied to my request, once again leaving me and Zayn in the kitchen as I set the table.
"Have you talked to her yet?" I spoke quietly to him just in case any of the other lads were in the hallway.
"Yeah, but she slurred her words alot. I think she was just drunk but I don't know. If I ever lost her...God I don't even know what I would do." He said staring down at the phone nestled between his palms.
"You arent going to loose her. I promise you. She probably went out to have a couple of drinks and made a stupid phone call. Girls do it all the time, no worries."
And with that he smiled but it was soon replaced by a frown. I furrowed my eyebrows trying to figure out what had caused the frown when he spoke up.
"You're actually like talking...Not like one or two words, but sentences. Why is that?"
"Well, I've got a mouth and I know words, why not utilize them?" I said while setting the last of the various food items on the table. He nodded his head as to say fair point. It was silent again, well that is until Niall came rushing into the room slidding into a chair and piling his plate with food.
"Slow down, mate. We don't need you choking." Zayn said, laughing at the boy who currently had 3 pieces of bacon in his mouth at once. Niall glared and continued munching on his food until took a slight break, only to look up at me and tell me 2 words that pissed me off.
"Savannah's here."
