I look out the window, seeing a few walkers trying to catch up with the car. Daryl rolls down the window, tossing the severed hand out. "I'm sorry about your brother. I'm sure he's fine." I say. Daryl nods, staring back out his window. I wish he would say more. Rick pokes his head around this seat, "This is Glenn." Glenn turns his head, hands still on the wheel.
"Scarlet."
"Hey. So you heading back to camp with us?"
I stop to think. I look a Daryl, the sun grazing his face. "Yeah." I look back at Glenn.
"Alright then, we probably won't make it before sundown though."
Slowly the sun starts setting. The yellow glow turning into pink. Daryl has his eyes closed, head resting on the back of the seat. I see every detail of his face, all the imperfections. They're nice though. Something I've never seen before, but glad that I am. I don't think I've ever admitted this to myself before. The thought that I actually may find someone attractive confuses me. Usually I don't pay attention to guys, they don't notice me anyway. But something about this Daryl Dixon makes me feel this sensation in stomach, one that eventually consumes my whole body. Before anyone notices me, I too rest my head against the seat, shutting my eyes.
Sorry for the short chapter. This was meant to develop the feelings she may feel for Daryl. Thanks for reading!
