I checked the time 11:09. fuck. as I stepped outside I saw something that I did not expect...

Joel was outside of his car with a bouquet of red roses. he was looking down at his phone with a disappointing look on his face. he walked to the trash can and threw the roses in. he made his way to his car and opened the door. he thought I wasn't going to come. I ran towards him.

"Joel! Wait! don't leave." I don't know how the hell I ran with the heels I was wearing.

"Erika...you came" he wrapped his arms around my waist and placed his head on my shoulders. "I thought you weren't going to come. I thought I had lost you forever and that you had chosen Yoandri." he had tears rolling down his cheeks. I hated seeing him like this. yes he hurt me but I loved him and I was going to fight for him, for us.

"Yoandri asked me to be his girlfriend. I haven't given him a response yet because I wanted to talk to you first. I love you Joel, I do. and I want to make sure that the decision I will make isn't the wrong one. I love you and I will fight for you, for us. I wasn't the same since you left. I was......depressed and sad. I just wanted to have you back in my life. and now that I do, I won't waste this chance. I choose you" I looked into those chocolate colored eyes that filled up with joy immediately after I said those 3 words. he picked me up by the waist and span me around.

"I-you don't know how happy this makes me. you won't regret you're choice." but little did he know he would be wrong.

"I hope but I think we should wait before we go public. I just-Yoandri is a nice guy and I don't want to hurt him this way. you understand me right?"

"of course. but as long as you promise you're only mine. and no one else's" he cupped my face with his hands.

"I pinky promise" I held up my pinky and intertwined it with his. he let out a small chuckle.

"well...I had roses for you but-" he looked at the trash can and then at me. I just laughed.

"I don't need roses. I just need you." he leaned in, placing his soft lips on mine. how had I missed this. I immediately kissed back and wrapped my arms around his neck. I smiled while kissing him and then realized we were outside the party.

"hey um I have to go talk to Yoandri. see you later?"

"of course. I love you Erika. don't forget that."

"I won't. Love you more" I made my way to the entrance and as soon as I stepped in I saw Yoandri in a corner on his phone.

"hey" I gave him a small smile. I felt so bad for doing this but it was the right thing to do. "can we talk? about earlier?"

"look Erika. I like you. a lot. but if you don't want to be my girlfriend I completely understand. you're new to the city and you just want to adjust and meet people. I understand if you just want to be friends." he smiled but he had a sad look on his face.

"look Yoandri, you're a great friend and a great guy but yes I think it's better if we're just friends. I'm sorry. I have to go now. bye" I felt so bad but it had to be done. I walked away and saw the guys. I just waved back and made my way to the exit. Joel was outside of his car scrolling through his phone. I walked up to him.

"hey...I'm back"

"how'd it go? with Yoandri?" he brought me in for a hug and I placed my head on his chest. he smelled so nice.

"um well he was hurt. but very understanding. we said we'd still be friends." I gave him a small smile.

"that's good. wanna get out of here?"

"yea" we made our way to the other side of the car and he opened the door for me.

Yoandri's POV
I am such an idiot. I should've seen the signs that she didn't like me. I just made a fool of myself and she ran away to don't know where.

•skips a couple of minutes•

I saw Erika walking into the party and make her way towards me. fuck.

"hey" She gave him a small smile. "can we talk? about earlier?"

"look Erika. I like you. a lot. but if you don't want to be my girlfriend I completely understand. you're new to the city and you just want to adjust and meet people. I understand if you just want to be friends." I gave her a smile. but deep inside I was feeling anything but happy.

"look Yoandri, you're a great friend and a great guy but yes I think it's better if we're just friends. I'm sorry. I have to go now. bye" and with that she walked away. I just had to get out of here. I went to go say bye to the guys and got entertained because they were trying to convince me to stay.

"nah I'm okay. I'm kinda tired. bye see you guys tomorrow." I made my way to the exit and as soon as I stepped out I regretted it. I saw Erika in Joel's arms. they made their way to the passenger seat and he opened the door for her. they didn't see me...hopefully. so this is why she said no. because she preferred him. I started to make my way towards them.....

sorry for the late update and I'm sorry if this sucks :( I had a good weekend because Joel followed me back on Twitter ASDFGHJKL !!!! I am so happy and omg I can't get over it lol. anyways don't forget to vote and comment :)
