As soon as both boys noticed I was thinking hard and deep, they left the doorway and abandoned me to deal with my own thoughts. My mind was all over the place as I thought of solutions to escape this situation. I couldn't possibly live with Blanton's son, mislead the police, and trick Angel's friends into thinking I am the famous Alyson the target always blabbered about.
The Renegades are idiots if they think I can do it, and because I said that, I'm technically an idiot because I am part of the famous rebel group that was known for causing destruction, mayhem, and chaos throughout the entire United States of America.
My train of thoughts were cut off as the doorbell rang and a shout echoed through the almost empty house. It was Jax's voice, I could tell by how his voice was deeper than Ace's and a tinge of British accent was evident in his voice.
'Come on, Aquila. You've been in this household for at least 2 hours and you already know the insanely attractive guy's voice' I said to myself and mentally punched myself. 'I couldn't get attached to any of them, I'll be leaving them soon enough' I reminded myself. I need some fresh air. I have to get rid of my doubts and nerves to pull this off.
I slowly stood up from my bed and walked out of the room and locking the door behind me with a key that Jax gave me while touring the house. I don't need anyone snooping through my stuff and blowing my cover for this mission.
My footsteps echoed through the hallway as I made my way to the staircase. I slowly went down the stairs, taking my time to get used to view I'll be seeing for the next few months.
While thought after thought bombarded my head, I tried to remember the direction to the back door. Soon enough, I found myself walking through the heavily locked door that lead to backyard.
I walked towards an empty chair under a large umbrella and sat down on it. My eyes took in the view. A large white fence made the huge mansion disconnected from the green forestry. The forest stood behind the fence and surrounded the house the same manner the fence did.
I looked to my right and saw a red rusting barbeque grill. Metal tables with chairs were scattered on the right side of the wide and spacious backyard, it was as if prepared for a lot of people. It was pretty ironic considering that there are only 3 people living in this house; Jax, the single maid, and I.
I looked to my left, there were showers that had nothing to cover the people that were to shower in there. 'It's probably for the people washing off before jumping in the pool' I thought while eyeing the shower.
My eyes then travelled to the pool that stood a few feet near me. Its still waters were shimmering at the sunlight as it emitted the slight smell of chlorine. Although the smell of chlorine was pretty evident, I didn't mind it. In fact, I was used to it. I sometimes use chlorine gas to kill someone, I do it if I don't want any blood in the future crime scene.
Calmness washed over me as I sunk into the chair and listened to the sound of the trees as its leaves rustled against each other as a strong gust of wind blew.
I closed my eyes as I listened to the sound of nature and slowly, I found myself drifting away from reality.
But before I could fully immerse myself into sleep, the backdoor swung open and slammed against the wall. "There you are!" a voice shouted.
I snapped my eyes open and sprung up from my seat, ready to attack and for the impending danger. I saw Jax by the door, his hands were held up, just like how Ace's were when he was by the front door
"Chill, Al. It's just me" he said as he saw my stance. My eyes were ready to spot any danger, my knees were bent as my legs were ready to kick someone, and my hands were in front of me, ready to punch someone and defend myself. In short, I was ready to pounce at someone in they attacked me.
I laughed at his widened eyes as I relaxed my stance upon seeing who it was. He walked towards me when he saw that I wasn't going to attack him and might probably kill him.
"What the bloody hell was that about?" he asked while obviously still trying to get over what happened earlier. I raised an eyebrow at him "Was it bad to be prepared in case someone wants to attack me?" I asked him sarcastically.
"Well, fair point but one question: who will attack you?" he said while raising one of his eyebrows, mocking me. "Jax, it's 2016, don't be naïve. Anyone will try to kidnap you and ask for ransom if you have a house like this" I retorted while pointing at the giant mansion.
"Whatever" he said, clearly not liking the fact that he was proved wrong by a girl "Let's just go in, Ace wants you to meet someone" he said as he led me inside the house.
We both went through the backdoor as Jax locked the door after we got inside. We then headed to the kitchen where I sat down on one of the tall chairs which were perched near the countertop. Jax then poured cold water in a glass as I asked him to while in our journey to the kitchen
"Here you go" he said as he slid the transparent glass with the clear liquid. I drank the cool liquid down as it sufficed my thirst. I held the glass containing liquid as I looked at Jax, he tapping away on his phone and I heard Ace's voice echo through the empty house.
"Aly, I want you to meet someone" he said loudly as he entered the kitchen. A guy with auburn hair then entered shortly, he was looking down on his phone. I ignored him and took a sip on my drink.
"Hi Alyson" a familiar voice said as it emphasized on my fake name. I looked up and saw piercing blue eyes staring back at me. My whole body went into shock.
The hand that clutched the glass suddenly went numb and as I released the grip on the container. The glass fell to the floor in slow motion, as if teasing me for the bad luck that fate decided to give me.
The container smashed into the floor as shattered glass flew everywhere. Glass shards littered the ground I'm directly below as everyone looked at me and Gale smirked evilly at me but wiped it before anyone can notice it.
'Oh no' I thought while everyone continued to stare at me.
