We were now at the coffee shop that Jaw had told me about. The three of us were sitting on a table by the window, Jax sat beside me as both of us sat across the vilest and most corrupt politician in American history.
"So Alyson, tell me, what college are you studying in?" Blanton asked. "Sorry, but I am currently in my highschool years, sir" I gave him a fake polite smile as I mentally called him an idiot.
"Oh is that how, well then, how old are you Ms. Banks?" he asked again "I am currently 17 years old, Mr. Blanton" I light-heartedly said, even though I am seething in anger at the inside.
"Tell me Alyson, how are your parents?" sheesh, is he really meeting up with us or is this a secret interrogation? "They're doing fine, sir. They've been quite busy due to the issue with the Renegades so I haven't seen them lately" I said, with a fake smile. Damn, this guy is getting in my nerves.
"Yes, yes, of course" he said "Those Renegades really are criminals. I mean, take those lives of the innocent people..." he trailed of as he sipped his coffee. He was clearly talking about his wife, and not the other corrupt politicians he used to work with.
I was disgusted at him. I mean, how could he be so selfish? Not only did he steal a lot of money from the citizens, he also didn't care about the other people affected by his decisions. He didn't care when he found out that one of his partners was dead, a gun to the head. And I was the one who did it. He didn't care when one of his cronies was in a car accident, which was again, caused by me. He didn't care about anyone who died because of his manipulative nature.
"Alyson" Jax called me as I stared out of the window "Yeah?" I asked. His eyes then motioned to his father as Blanton looked at me expectantly. I cleared my throat and said "I'm sorry, I space out a bit. I really apologize" but in reality, he could go pour boiling hot water on himself and I wouldn't even care, I'd probably even laugh.
"It's okay. I'll just ask the question again. When was the last time you've heard of Angel?" he asked, hope filled his eyes "It was about 2 days ago, sir" I answered "WHAT? 2 days ago? How did that happen?" he questioned me, obviously flabbergasted.
"An unknown number called me so I picked it up and asked who it was. I knew it was Angel from the voice so I asked her where she was. She was crying and telling me to get help, I couldn't understand what she was saying so I got her to calm down"
"She told me that O'Connors got her and told me that he dragged her from the clearing and drugged her. She said she was in his office basement but I didn't know where that was"
"Then I heard a bang and she told me to delete the call and block the number as soon as she dropped it. Then I heard O'Connors' voice at the other line and the call ended. After the call, I complied to what Angel told me to do and deleted the call and blocked the number" I lied through my very own teeth, I was used to it anyways.
"Then why didn't you call police?" he said, anger evident on his voice "Because I knew they wouldn't believe me, I have no evidence whatsoever that Angel called so I kept it to me until now" I argued back to him in a polite way, don't want him kicking me out of the house, I just unpacked my clothes.
"Then let's go to the police station immediately" Jax said as he picked up his phone and keys and we all ran behind him. I was careful to not leave my phone and handkerchief as we both got inside Blanton's car.
Ray, Jax's dad, was driving while Jax called shotgun and I sat at the backseat. We all drove to the police station where the police officers were planning the location of where Angel might be.
"This girl has talked to Angel and she said that O'Connors got her in his office basement. Raid his house immediately!" he shouted, his face turning red, "Bur sir-" one of the officers tried to reason "NOW!" Blanton said as everyone scrambled to their cars as we followed them to O'Connors office.
'The plan is working' I thought while Ray was frantically driving, trying to get ahead of the police vehicles. 'Imbecile' I muttered inside my head.
We arrived at his office and the police busted the door down. O'Connors was scanning his papers as he looked surprised to see the whole swat team at his doorsteps.
"What is happening?" he asked as one of the officers ignored him and continued to search for the basement door. And when they did, they saw a couple of girls cowered at the corner, fear evident in their eyes.
Blanton got out of the car and went inside the basement, trying to find his daughter. "Where's my daughter, you bastard?!"Blanton shouted at O'Connors as he continued to deny his accusations. Blanton then punched O'Connors square on the jaw.
The police then handcuffed O'Connors and told us that he was to go to court for his actions.
We just nodded as Blanton tried everything to find his daughter in the household, in which, she wasn't.
I knew from the beginning that O'Connors have been keeping girls in his basement to sell and gave him an extra thousand dollars in his salary. But I didn't know it was this bad. It's a good thing I pointed my finger at him or else, this would've gone horribly wrong.
