Chapter fifth teen: Promise12.08.1944
Hermione stood over the grey tombstone by the Lovegood manner. The rain drizzled down her face and she felt her own tears mix with them. Something warm was suddenly placed over her shoulder, she noticed it was a black Slytherin robe.
"Leave..."
Tom stood behind her and brushed his lips against her neck.
"You sent the basilisk on him didn't you!" Hermione said surprisedly calm, her vision began to get hazy.
Tom stared at her emotionless "He was in love with you, I didn't want him around you anymore."
"So you decided to kill him! You. are. a. monster Tom!" She yelled jabbing a figure into his chest. He looked down at her figure and scowled.
"Yet you love me." He murmured, his dark emotionless eyes staring intently at her.
"I do not love you," Hermione breathed angrily. "I hate you."
Tom face immediately clamped up his eyes glinting with furious anger. "No you do not." He said lowly.
"I do! You are a monster Tom, I can't love a monster!" She screamed more tears streaming down her face.
"I AM DOING THIS FOR US!" He yelled his voice breaking towards the end, his eyes suddenly turning desperate.
"How? How! By killing my friend by killing muggles and- and Mudbloods like me! What's wrong with you Tom! How could you possibly think I could love a person like you!"
"I can promise you that I'd never harm anyone for you!" He yelled taking my hand into his. "I can learn...let me learn." He said, his voice faltering at the end.
Hermione studied him for a minute, he looked sorry but she couldn't tell if it was genuine or not but being the forgiving person she was... "You may start by killing the basilisk, unless you'd like to go back home to your orphanage. They are closing the school down because of you Tom."
