Neji x Reader Chapter 4: The Test

Your POV

'Stupid clan, why me. Why do you hate me so?!?' I said in my head. Sometimes I got these really annoying flashes of my past in my head. It hurts physically and mentally. I collapse onto my knees from dizziness. Sweat starts to bead up on my head. I almost pass out until I see someone appear in front of me. My vision was blurred so it was difficult to tell who it was. "(f/n), are you okay?" they ask me. The voice was extremely familiar. "Y-yeah, I guess.." I finally manage to say. I reached for the pouch attached to my thigh, trying to feel for the anxiety pill that I always keep on me. When I finally feel it, I pull my hand out of pouch and pop the pill in my mouth. I finally stood back up and turned around to see Lee. "Thanks for keeping me up Lee." I say gratefully. A tint of pink appears on his cheeks. "No problem (f/n)-chan! Where are you going anyways?" asked the jolly Lee. "I was just heading out to meet up with Guy Sensei for the test." I said plainly. Lee nods his head. "I shall accompany you on your voyage to the training grounds!!" Lee belowed loudly. I couldn't help but chuckle a bit. "Okay, that's fine.." I said.

Me and Lee run for a while until we finally get to the training grounds. I already see Guy Sensei doing some squat thrusts. I mentally facepalm myself. From the corner of my eye I see Lee dart over to Guy Sensei. "I vow to do three times the amount of squat thrusts you did Guy Sensei!!" Lee yells. I hear Guy Sensei laugh loudly. "That's my boy Lee.." said an impressed Guy Sensei as he puts one hand on Lee's shoulder. "Well are you ready to get started?" Guy Sensei finally asks me. 'Heck yeah I'm ready!!' I yell in my head. "Yeah." I finally say. Guy Sensei gets into fighting stance, which cues me to get into fighting stance as well. "(f/n), your goal is to hit me three times in 20 minutes." Guy Sensei says. I rolled my eyes, then nodded. "Lee, start the timer... NOW!!" Guy Sensei yells.

Lee sets off the timer, and Guy Sensei swiftly dashes over to me. 'He sure is fast..' I say to myself. Guy Sensei's fist collides with my gut, but I substitute just in the knick of time. "Heh, you can run but you can't hide." Guy Sensei says. I am hidden behind a tree, trying to figure out a plan. 'I only have 20 minutes to hit him three times. So what do I do??' I ask myself impatiently. Then an idea popped up in my head. I weave some hand signs and after I finished, one solid clone of me was standing right next to me. I motion my clone to run over to the opposite side of the training ground. When my clone finally reached the destination, I use my telepathy technique to communicate with it.

Guy was standing in fighting position, waiting for an attack. Lee was looking around the whole training ground, trying to find me. Out of nowhere a kunai is speeding past Guy Sensei. 'Now I found you (f/n)..' Guy Sensei thought to himself before going into the direction the stray kunai flew from.

'This is my chance to get Guy Sensei..' I say in my head. I dart across the field and into a wooded area, where I see Guy Sensei fighting my clone. A smirk spread across my face.

"You are good (f/n), not gonna lie." said Guy Sensei as he attempted to kick. "Heh, you're not as good as I thought you were.." I said and froze. "Huh, what does that mean?" he asks and finally punches (f/n), but a poof of smoke appeared. 'Trying to run again..' Guy thinks to himself. Then as if cued, I speedily ran up to Guy Sensei from behind and blew a kick. It sent him flying about eight feet. As he got up, I said,"That's one.." I said grinning. Guy Sensei chuckled. "I admit, you are very good (f/n).." said a tired Guy Sensei. Without thinking twice, I charge at Guy Sensei. I could tell that he was caught off guard, cause I managed to get about three inches from his face before he balled his fist and jabbed me in the stomach. My whole body was in shock at that point. I collapse onto my knees, wiping blood away from the corners of my mouth. Out of nowhere Guy Sensei was two feet from my face, ready to lash out a kick. This is when I decided to store a bit of chalkra into my arms so that I can grab his leg.

I grabbed Guy Sensei's leg, flipped him over my back, and held a kunai to his neck. Guy Sensei's face was full of shock. He grabbed my hand, the grip tightening my whole fist. 'This is my chance!' I say to myself. I throw a kick at Guy Sensei's face, who went flying through the air, his back bashing into an old cherry blossom tree. 'One more..' I say to myself.

As Guy Sensei gets up, I pull out shuriken from my weapon pouch. I throw four shuriken towards Guy Sensei, but dodges smoothly. "You may have already hit me two times but I will make sure that I AM VICTORIOUS!!" Guy Sensei yelled to me. I groan. 'He is already starting to get on my nerves..' I say in my head. I weave some hand signs, getting ready to perform a jutsu. Darkish chalkra balls in my fists, completely covering my whole arms in black. Before Guy Sensei can even move, I dart towards him, attempting to lay a hit. "Dark Style: Shadow Wisp!!" I yell as I lash my fists towards Guy Sensei. He catches my fists, and my dark chalkra disappears. 'H-how did he do that, it's almost impossible to catch a jutsu with the dark chalkra of the (l/n) clan.' I say in utter shock.

'What was (f/n) thinking? Trying to use a jutsu like that?' Guy Sensei asks himself. Guy Sensei stares at me with concern, his hand releasing from my arms. "You have already proven yourself enough (f/n)." Guy Sensei finally manages to say. I look up at his face, a smile curves on the rims of my mouth. Then I punch him hardly in the face, sending him flying 10 feet. 'Yeah, that wouldn't work in an actual fight so proving myself even further is required.' I say in my head. Guy Sensei stands up, looking back at me and nods. "Congratulations, you pass (f/n)!" Guy Sensei says happily. I am so overwhelmingly happy. "Thank you Guy Sensei, I won't let you down." I promise Guy Sensei. He puts a comforting hand on my shoulder. "You did great (f/n), keep up the excellent work. We start our first mission as student and teacher tomorrow." Guy Sensei says as he puts a 'peace sign' up. I nod, and I put my hand out for Guy Sensei to shake. He gladly accepts it, shaking my hand in return.

I took another shower when I got back to my tiny apartment. I was filthy and sweaty. 'Wonder what awaits me tomorrow..' I say as I drift off into deep thoughts.
