Reader's POV
I blush and try to avoid eye contact.
"U-Um I am flattered but I am not interested. Sorry Lee."
Lee falls onto both of his knees and begins to sulk. Tenten sweatdrops and pats Lee on the back.
'That must've been hard for Lee to do..' I thought.
Feeling extremely awkward, I walk away from Lee and Tenten slowly. Walking on my own was for the best, it was gonna be strange to walk with someone who has a crush on you. Seeing an empty park bench, I sit down, looking up at the sky.
"(f/n), there you are!" I hear Tenten's voice.
Looking over, I see the brunette smiling at me.
"Hey Tenten, how is Lee feeling now?" I ask nervously.
Of course I didn't want to make it too obvious that I was nervous. Tenten sits down in the space beside me and frowns.
"He sulked for a few moments but then he said that he would prove he was a worthy boyfriend." Tenten replies with a sigh.
My sigh follows and I force a laugh.
"He should have just taken a hint. I don't see me and him together as a couple."
"Yeah, otherwise it'll become a pain for the rest of us." Tenten adds.
"I think that I just wanna go home for the rest of the night."
Tenten instantly stood up, reaching out for my hand.
"Wanna have a sleepover tonight? It might cheer you up!" Tenten asks me in a cheerful tone.
"Eh, sure. Your company would probably help me." I respond.
"Awesome! Let's get to your apartment then, shall we?"
Tenten and I walked back to my house together. Never have I ever had people sleep over my house, especially someone I'm not very familiar with yet. When we got to my tiny apartment, I unlocked the door. I allowed Tenten to enter my humble apartment first.
"I'll set up an extra bed for you to sleep on." I tell Tenten before walking to a mini closet in the hallway.
"Sounds good, (y/n)!" Tenten responds.
"You're welcome to relax in the living room while I set up."
Tenten accepts my offer; sitting down on a small sofa that is in the middle of the living room. Pulling the mattress out of the closet was easy, since it's able to be unfolded. It is also possible to carry it in two arms without any help. After spreading out the mattress on the floor, I began to carefully lie sheets, a blanket, and a pillow on top of it.
"Hey Tenten!" I shout. "The bed is ready for you! Feel free to come check it out!"
It only took a few mere seconds for Tenten to appear in my room.
"You did an amazing job setting up, (y/n)!" Tenten compliments the setup of the bed, plopping down on it.
Giggles could be heard from Tenten as she got comfortable on the bed briefly.
"Say (y/n), could I wash up before we go to sleep?" Tenten asks, now sitting up on the mattress.
"Sure. The bathroom is to your left when you leave the room." I guide Tenten to my bathroom.
Tenten had to have been in the bathroom for at least ten minutes before finally coming back into my room with me.
"Thanks for letting me wash up."
Tenten lies down on the mattress once again, staring up at my ceiling in silence.
"Sure thing." I respond, glancing at Tenten as she stared up at the eggshell colored ceiling.
"Since we're having this sleepover, that makes us friends, right?" I suddenly ask Tenten, throwing her off guard almost immediately.
"Why are you asking? Of course we're friends now! And teammates, too." Tenten responds to my question with a light smile on her lips.
I was left utterly speechless. Man, am I glad to have a friend now who I can trust.
