"Gaster! We have a problem!" I set down my work to walk to the front of the house.
"What's wrong Grillbz?" I asked, surprised that he was over in the middle of the day. HE seemed out of breath, almost like he'd run the whole way.
"There's a human. In the Underground." I sighed gently, smiling at him.
"Grillby, sweetheart, I love you, but I think I need a break. Humans can't get into the Underground, they put a barrier up for a reason." I said, resting a hand on his shoulder.
"He's not crazy Dad!" Sans said, walking into the house. He was holding Papyrus' hand and Scorch was right behind them. "They closed schools cuz a human somehow got in the Underground. They came out of the empty forest in Snowdin."
"Sans, they didn't look mean." Papyus said, pulling on Sans' hand a little. All of us turned to look at him in disbelief.
"You saw them?" Scorch finally said, kneeling down in front of him.
"Yeah. when we were running through Waterfall. I made sure Undyne made it to her house, and I saw the human coming towards us."
"This is..well, its complicated. It's an amazing chance, scientifically speaking." I said, moving forward to close the door. "But if the human is violent then we may be in for some trouble." I sighed once, before turning to the children. "I want the three of you to go upstairs. I don't want you to move until we come get you. If we don't come after a few hours, I want you two," I pointed to Sans and Scorch. "to make sure everything is safe before you let Papyrus come downstairs." They nodded before walking upstairs. I could hear Sans whispering to Papyrus, who looked very upset.
"You think they'll be okay?" Grillby asked, wrapping his arms around my waist.
"Of course. They always are, all three of them. You've really done a good job with Scorch." I said, leaning against him. I smiled at how warm he was. Sure, he was a fire elemental, but his warmth never ceased to amaze me. Perhaps because bones can get very cold very fast. We can't exactly feel the chill, but it's still there,
"I don't think anyone is a better father than you are." He replied, gently bumping the top of my skull. I smiled before pulling away from him.
"We'd better figure out what to do before the human gets here." I said, sighing slightly.
I just hope they're willing to show mercy.
