Brown eyes looked into blue, ones filled with concern. Regina buried her head head in the crook of Jefferson's neck. His large muscular arms were holding her tightly against his chest as he pressed a kiss on her hairline. Snow frowned at them and could see that Regina was emotional. Was she hiding something? The former queen broke from his grasp, and held his face between her hands. "I love you," she said sincerely.

"I love you too," he said and could still see pain in her eyes, but he didn't know why.

He kissed her in hopes of taking that pain away, but when he pulled away he still saw pain in those lovely brown eyes. Breaking the awkward silence, Emma spoke up saying, "Um...Regina and I can go check it out...that thing--the trigger," she said as August held her hand.

"Yeah," Regina in a distressed tone.

The brunette walked over to the kids and shared a small smile. They knew she wanted a hug and crashed into her. "I love the both of you," she whispered before placing a kiss on the tops of their heads.

She could hear their muffled voices crack out that they loved her too. It was painful to have to leave them, but they would never let her go if she told them.  She couldn't tell them.  Regina pulled away from her children and smiled at both of them before giving Jefferson one last kiss.  Emma kissed August's cheek before she and Regina left the loft.

"Not to sound like I don't trust Regina, but she's hiding something, and I'm afraid it's not good," Snow whispered to Jefferson and he nodded in agreement.

...

Many Years Ago...

A young teen stood by his mother's grave, with the wind blowing leaves across his field of vision.  His bright blue eyes were bloodshot and watered as he stared at the name "Helen of Ryversville"; that was the place she had been born in. The young man's father came up behind him, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"I miss her too, my boy," a younger Luca said with teary eyes.

"Why did she have to die? I loved her, papa," he cried out.

"Fate is cruel my son. But she wouldn't want us mourning her for years. Eventually we have to move on...that's what she would want," he said as he pulled Jefferson into a hug.

"Papa...do you believe in true love?"

"Of course I do. Helen was my true love. Maybe it won't be the first, but you will find that special lady someday and I hope to meet her," he said with a grin.
