Chapter 4

The day went by pretty fast. I got lots of homework, like usual, and before I knew it, it was time to go home.

As I walked against the rush of everyone trying to go home, I thought of my plans for later that day. I still couldn't wrap my mind around the fact that Alec Thompson and his friends, the coolest boys at school, wanted to talk to me, Skylar James.

I quickly grabbed my books and shoved the in my bag and then hurried to my car. As I got closer, I saw a certain someone leaning in the hood texting. Again.

As soon as he heard me coming, Alec looked up and smiled.

"Change of plans. Coach moved practice later so we're meeting earlier."

I gave him my 'you've got to be kidding' face.

"Maybe I have plans and I can't meet till later! Ever thought of that?" I said while putting my hands on my hips.

Alec just smirked in response like always. I was staring to get tired of his smirks and him bossing me around.

"Come on. We both know that coming to my house was the only plans you had this weekend."

"That's not true..." I started to defend myself.

"And doing homework and watching Netflix don't count!"

I just humphed and unlocked my car.

"Oh sweet peas, don't be mad! Furrowed brows don't suit you!"

I turned on the radio in order to silence his annoying voice and "Work" by Rihanna came on.

"Ooh I love this song!" Alec squealed and he started singing along in falsetto.

"But I wake up and act like nothing's wrong. Just get ready to work, work, work, work, work, work..."

I burst into peals of laughter. "Who would've thought that the school's bad boy liked pop?" And I started laughing again.

"Hey! I have sisters who love this garbage. I'm more a heavy metal fan." And then he went on to imitate heavy metal with loud sound effects.

I'll give him this. He could be pretty funny when he tried.

As we pulled up in front of our houses, another car pulled up and Alec's friends got out of the car. As soon as I saw them I inaudibly gulped. Alec must have saw this because he said "Don't worry. They're not as scary as they seem. And whatever weird questions I ask you, just say yes and I'll explain later."

I looked at him, confused, waiting for an answer, but when I saw he wasn't going to answer me I sighed. "Fine. No matter what I'll say yes."

"You promise?"

"Yes. I Skylar James solemnly swear to say yes to whatever dumb question you ask me."

"Jeez Carrot, I wasn't asking you to marry me!" And he smirked at me (duh) and left the car.

I frowned at him and also left my car.

"Alec. Where the hell were you? I was waiting to drive you home." Theo Regel was the captain of the soccer team and was very passionate about the sport which made him seem super intimidating.

"Bro. Chill. Was just getting a ride home with my new bestie!"

I rolled my eyes at Alec and lightly punched his shoulder.

"Ow green beans! That hurt!"

"Baby" I muttered and rolled my eyes.

Theo gave me a squinted-eye once over and I inaudibly gulped. He stuck his hand out and said "I'm Theo. Nice to meet you." As his mouth changed from a straight line to a slight smile, I froze. I could deal with a serious Theo, but seeing his smile kinda shocked me.

"I...I'm Jylar Skames...Skylar James!" And ladies and gentlemen, that's how you make a huge fool of yourself in front of two of the coolest guys in school. Internal face-palm.

Alec and Theo just laughed at my awkwardness and we headed inside.

As I walked up Alec's stairs, I looked at all the family pictures that were hung artistically at fixed distances from each other. When I had babysat Alec's sister, I had just brought her to the park and my house because her family was busy unpacking so I had never actually come into the Thompson's house.

Once we got to the landing, we walked down the hall past a few doors and entered what I assumed was Alec's room.

Sitting on his bead were two boys: Ryder Kraft and Colton Davis. They were part of Alec's friend group but I was still surprised that they were there.

"Sky this is Ryder and Colton, Colton and Ryder this is Skylar James."

I just smiled at the boys when they said hi. I wasn't making a fool of myself twice in one day.

"Skylar, do you know why you're here?" As the boys waited for me to answer Colton's question, I squirmed. It felt like I was sitting at a court case with how serious the room was.

"Uh, no. Alec just asked me to come over."

"Well I think Alec has a question for you," Ruder said with a smirk. What was with these boys and smirking?!

Alec looked at me and mouthed 'remember what I said before.' What he said before? Damn it! I had promised to say yes to all his questions. Curse me and my refusal to think before I speak!

"Skylar James, will you be my girlfriend?"

Guess who's back!
I know I'm EXTREMELY over due for an update, but I've also been EXTREMELY busy. My school just had a retreat which I was in charge of so I was busy with that for the past almost month.
But I really am sosososo sorry!
I will try to get better!
