The Boy Next Door

Chapter 2

After dinner I go up to my room to finish my homework. Halfway through my math work, my phone buzzes with a text.

I ignore the sound so I can finish the last 2 problems and my phone goes crazy with texts.

I put my pencil down and pick up my phone, unlock it, and open up to my messages app.

I have 7 texts from 'The Hottest Guy in School'. Alec, I think rolling my eyes. I open his texts and start reading.

"Heyyy"

"Whatcha doing?"

"Stop ignoring me!"

"I see you ignoring me!"

"Helloooo"

"Skylar?"

"K fine. I can take a hint"

I look out my window and Alec sitting on his bed staring at his phone. When he feels me watching him, he looks up and smirks. Alec then points at his phone and mouths the words 'answer me'.

I playfully roll my eyes and text him back.

"Hey. What do u want??"

He's quick to respond with:

"For u to come over tomorrow night. We have to talk to u."

"What about?"

"Come & u'll see"

"Fine"

"Come at 7:30"

"K. C u then"

"Have a good night and sweet dreams (of me of course😉)"

I roll my eyes.

"U have a pretty big ego for someone who sleeps with a teddy bear!"

"So u watch me sleep? Good thing u're so pretty or I'd be pretty scared that I had a stalker. Not that you can help it 😏"

"I don't watch u sleep! Your family's just willing to sell u out for a few snickers bars!"

"I knew introducing Bailey to chocolate was dumb of me!"

Bailey was Alec's adorable five year sister. Their mother was a nutritionist and didn't let her family have any junk food, resulting in the easiest kids to bribe. I had babysat for Bailey a couple of times as her family had moved in and had learned quickly the best way to have her help, whether that be putting her plate in the sink or telling me Alec's deepest secrets.

"Anyways I gotta go so good night! Sweet dreams;)"

"Ok Alec. U too"

After putting my phone down, I quickly finish my homework, take a shower, and get ready for bed. I turn off my light and hop into bed with my laptop and open up to Netflix.

I start watching season 2 of Grey's Anatomy and turn the volume down. This was how I fell asleep. If I wasn't watching something, I would toss and turn all night. Nothing else helped me fall asleep like a good episode of Grey's.

As Meredith and Cristina work through their problems, my eyes close as I think about tomorrow and talking with Alec and his friends. As I think of all the possible scenarios, my eyes drift close and I fall asleep.

I hope you all enjoyed it and tell my your thoughts on this chapter and the book so far. This was just a filler chapter pretty much, I just wanted to start get the wheels of the book turning.
