"And we are here!" Sherria cheered, hopping off the train and dancing on her toes. "The town of Lamia Scale~" Meredy carefully stepped down the train and looked around. Before she had a chance of looking around everything, Sherria gently tugged her arm, and then firmly pulled. Meredy stumbled, then had to jog to keep up with Sherria's skipping.

"S-Sherria," Meredy said as she almost tripped over the cobbled streets. "H-Hold on!"

Sherria looked back with a pout. "But I want you to come to Lamia Scale quickly!" she wheedled, still tugging her along. "I want you to meet all of my friends! And my cousin! And the guild master! Oh, and you shouldn't make the guild master angry. She'll spin you!"

"Spin you?" Meredy repeated, confused.

"Yep, spin you," Sherria said, not catching the confusion in Meredy's voice. "Spin, spin, spin, until you're all dizzy and can see all the pretty stars." Sherria looked back with a huge smile.

"Sometimes, I see Lyon's Ice Magic," she confessed in a small voice. "And I get even dizzier!" She laughed, and it continued like that - Meredy listening and Sherria leading her. They came to a slow stop as Sherria turned to face the huge building in front of them. Or rather, a guild hall.

"Here's Lamia Scale!" Sherria said as cheerfully as she seemed, pushing the oak doors open.

Meredy looked around in interest and slight awe. It was a nice and busy guild, with mages milling around, some drunk, some poking around for fun. A man with dog like features and a short man were arguing, and Meredy could hear it all the way from where she was. They were yelling about...socks?

Suddenly, the guild got quiet. Meredy blinked as they turned to the doors. "Lyon!" the dog-like featured man said. "You're back!"

Lyon stepped out from behind Meredy and nodded. "I'm back," he repeated. Meredy hesitated, not sure if she should step out or not.

"And this is Meredy!" Sherria said, linking her arm with Meredy's.

The guild was quiet, until the dog like person spoke up. "Is she hella cute? Where'd you guys pick her up?" Meredy was grateful for her hood.

"We didn't 'pick her up,' Toby," Lyon said calmly. "She's...she was in the Council meeting with us." The man now known as Toby nodded.

"Oh, yeah," he said. "Have you seen my sock?! I haven't seen it anywhere!!" He shook his head, a necklace with a sock in the middle shaking too. Meredy cocked an eyebrow, and Sherria shook her head.

"Let him try to find it," she whispered. "This happens everyday anyways."

Meredy nodded, a bit confused. A short man with big, defined eyebrows stepped up.

"Was your sudden disappearance because of this girl?" she asked, eyeing Meredy. "Is she an ally or a foe-?"

"sOckS," the dog man yelled, interrupting him. The man with the eyebrows scowled and glared at the  dog man.

"She is no foe," said a man in traditional Japanese clothing. He was rather tall, and clutching a set of old, barely kept together scrolls.

"Jura!" Lyon said in surprise, his eyes going wide. "It's rare that we see you around now - how are you?"

Jura inclined his head. "I am fine, thank you for asking. Like I was saying, this new person is not a foe. Her name is Meredy, and she will be joining us temporarily for a special mission. This special mission will include Lyon-dono, Sherria-dono, and Wendy-dono. That's all I'm allowed to say."

The guild's voice rose as one, protesting and curious. Jura stared down all the clamoring voices. Meredy wilted a little - would she go through questioning from the guild members?
