When I am 3,
I stand on my feet
And start to walk
Taking my first steps to freedom
When I am 9,
The school bus arrives
At the bus stop.
I get on it
Taking my first steps to independence.
When I am 14,
I enter the proclaimed palace
Called high school
Taking my first steps into adolescence.
When I am 18,
I leave the relished realms
Of high school behind
And take my first steps into the world.
