Devin ran through the woods, his bare feet hitting the wet ground. His bag kept slapping his side causing a sharp in his hip. He wanted to stop but knew if he did he'd get caught. He let out a sharp gasp when he was yanked to the side. He struggled for a few seconds before realizing it was only his slave

"That's right master Devin. It's only me." The slave soothed him. "There's a trap field up ahead. If you run through it you'll die."

"Can you help me through it?"

"Its traps set by other wolves. I can't get through. We'll have to either get caught in one or go around. We don't have long sir. You have to choose." Devin bit his lip, looking up at his slave.

"Go through. It's the only way to get away fast enough. We'll have to hope we miss them Ange." Devin sighed.

"Okay sir. Get on my back then." Devin nodded, climbing onto the man's back. He clung onto him as they ran through the field. They set off three traps in the process, and nearly dodged each one. Devin let out a cry as Angelo fell into a roll, and landed on top of him.

"Angelo." Devin whimpered. "What happened?"

"There's someone out there." Angelo mumbled. "Someone's watching us, sir." Devin let out a small whine.

"We already crossed the border. No one can force us to go back. We're just passing through." Devin hurriedly explained. He hoped whoever was there could hear him.

"Sir, they're gone." Angelo sighed. He stood up and easily lifted the small boy.

"Stop treating me like a child. I'm sixteen now." Devin huffed. "Now all we have to do it reach the city and we're home free." Devin chuckled.

"Yes Master Devin." Angelo chuckled. He wrapped his arm around Devin's waist as they started walking.

"Remember, when we get there you're my mate. We can't let anyone know about where we're from." Devin sighed. "I'm so happy." Devin chuckled, running ahead of Angelo. The human slave slowly shook his head, his blue eyes closing.

"Slow down sir, I don't want you to get hurt." Angelo's smile fell when Devin froze. He ran to him as the boy started to fall down. He caught Devin just before he hit the ground. He picked a piece of wood from his neck. "Sleep medicine." Angelo frowned. He gasped, a sharp pain in his neck. He quickly pulled the wood off his neck. "You can't.... do this." Angelo mumbled as he fell back. "You can't... hurt... ma... aster."

Devin slowly woke up, blinking his eyes as the sun his them. He gently rubbed the satin sheets under his body. He sat up, looking around the room. Rule one: Don't freak out in random places. He threw his legs over the side of the bed.

"Who are you?" Devin looked around, his eyes landing on a small girl. "I'm Sally. I'm a wolf! Are you a wolf?"

"Yes. My name is Devinua, but I prefer Devin. Where is my friend?" Devin frowned as the little girl tilted her head.

"SALLY!" The little girl jumped up, running out the room just as a taller man ran into the room. "You know better you pup!"

"I'm sorry, but I wanted to make a new friend!" The little girl snit as she left.

"Now then." The man turned to Devin, looking down at him. "Who are you?"

"My name is Devinua, but I like to be called Devin." The man nodded. "Where is my friend? My friend is very important to me."
