Slight arrogance and innocence

"Angelo! It hurts!" Devin groaned as he rolled onto his stomach. "Make it stop."

"I can't sir. It'll pass." Angelo sighed, rubbing Devin's back. "You're covered in sweat now."

"You're not helping Angelo."

"I'm sorry sir."

"Where's Josh?! He made the pain stop!" Devin sobbed. "I feel so hot and I keep getting wet!"

"He went to the center with Chris. I can run and find him for you."

"No. I don't want to put you in danger. I don't know how these wolves will react to you." Devin whimpered. "Just please tell me when he gets back."

"Yes sir." Angelo sighed. "would you like me to get you something?"

"No." Devin shook his head. He rolled onto his side, finding this position better.

"I think I hear someone downstairs. I'll be right back sir." Angelo hurried out the room. He sighed when he saw the two alphas. "Josh sir."

"Is everything alright?"

"No. Master Devin says he wants to see you."

"Okay. Chris, don't hurt him." Josh mumbled before running upstairs.

"Are you okay?" Chris asked, grabbing the human's arm. "You seem stressed?"

"I'm not." Angelo shrugged Chris off him. "I don't like seeing master in pain."

"Why do you still call him that?" Chris frowned, spinning Angelo to face him. "You're in free lands."

"No. I am still bound to master no matter what you say. He's my master and I'll follow him to the ends of times." Angelo snit. "Please don't say otherwise. Other slaves have tried to convince me otherwise but I will not be persuaded. My place is next to Master Devin, and no where else."

"What if your place is next to another?"

"Never. I have not seen it, and I have seen most of my own life. I am always with Master."

Chris let out a long sigh, shaking his head. "Okay, if that's how you feel."

Josh kept his arm tight around Devin's waist, holding the boy close to his chest. He kept him from moving as he lightly rubbed his stomach.

"Why does it stop when you hold me?"

"Your body is responding to mine. It expects me to have sex with you." Josh chuckled. "I'm responding also, but I won't do it. I promise." Devin nodded, biting his lip.

"I'm... I'm tired." Devin yawned.

"Go to sleep. I want you to remember something. You can stay here if you wish. You don't have to leave and go to the ruined city or have another Alpha lay claim to you." Josh let out a long sigh, nuzzling the back of Devin's neck. "Just think about staying."

"I will." Devin mumbled as he drifted off.

Devin slowly woke up, feeling better than he did before. He stretched and let out a loud yawn. He froze when he heard someone chuckled behind him.

"Why are you laughing at me?"

"I'm not. You just look cute." Josh chuckled. He slowly shook his as he walked towards the bed. "You're feeling better."

"Yes. I don't feel like... Like I'm going to die." Devin giggled. "Where is Angelo?"

"He's helping Chris gather some things for you. Would you like to look around the village? I've lived here forever and I can give you the grand tour!" Josh chuckled. He did a mock bow, earning a glare from Devin.
