A Simple Love Story [C]

I'm slowly running out of chapter titles.

"He can run." Josh gasped out. They had finally lost Angelo a few blocks back. "Damn."

"I know. It's why I could never get his sight." Devin giggled as he jumped off Josh's back. "He's annoying sometimes." Devin lightly kissed Josh's cheek, tilting his head up at him.

"Heh. It's around here." Josh mumbled as he pulled Devin around the corner. Devin smiled as the sound of music reached his ears. It wasn't too loud or quiet. It was nice. "There he is."

"There who is?"

"My friend." Josh chuckled. He waved at someone that Devin quickly recognized to be Ryan. "Hey."

"Why hello there sweet Joshua. Already dating the new one?" Ryan laughed at him, shaking his head. "You're cute." Ryan smirked at him. "Do you like it here little one?"

"Yes. It's a very nice place." Devin whispered, biting his lip.

"That's good. Ricky has taken a liking to you." Ryan smiled at him. "He's inside, and wants to talk to you."

"Why?" Devin whispered.

"I don't know. You'd have to ask him. He's been cryptic with me this entire time." Ryan chuckled. "It comes with having a seer as your mate."

"Let's go inside." Josh sighed, tilting his head. Ryan nodded and guided them into the restaurant. He brought them to the back where Ricky was waiting. He had brushed his hair and changed his clothes.

"Ricky." Ryan gushed as he wrapped his arms around Ricky's head.

"Ryan, you just saw me not five minutes ago." Ricky chuckled. "Hello Josh, Devin."

"Hey Rick." Josh smiled at him. "Are you okay?"

"Of course I'm okay. I learned a lot." Ricky smiled back at him. "Sit. It's important that he eats." Josh pulled a chair out, letting Devin sit. He sat next to him, staring at Ricky. "How have you been Devin?"

"Good. It's been nice." Devin smiled at him.

"That's not what I meant. You know what I want to know Devin." Ricky frowned at him. "You don't have to say anything specific but I need to know if you're alright." Devin looked down, staring at the table. "I've seen everything Devin."

"That doesn't mean you can ask me about it." Devin mumbled. "I've been fine."

"You've always been stubborn." Ricky sighed. "I've watched you grow up Devin. Every step of the way."

"Shut up." Devin whimpered gripping his shirt. "Please just shut up."

"Did you tell Josh yet? You have to tell him." Ricky looked at him, obviously not seeing how distraught Devin was becoming. "Devin..."

"Stop." Devin groaned, gripping his hair. He quickly stood up, running off. Josh stood up and went to head after him. He followed Devin out, losing him in the night.

"Devin." Josh whispered into the dark. A small growl escaped his throat as he heard footsteps behind him. "What did you do?! He told you to stop!" Josh growled, turning and gripping Ricky's shirt. "He told you to stop!"

"He's not ready Josh. He needs to tell you his past. It's the only way for him to love you." Ricky calmly spoke.

"I don't care Ricky! You should have stopped!"

"Josh, put him down." Ryan warned, stepping up to them. "We need to find him." Josh looked at Ryan, before setting Ricky on his feet. "I'll forgive this for now. Ricky, you were out of line and should have left it alone." Ricky looked at the ground, nodding.

"I'm sorry. I know where he is and we have to hurry if we want to find him before the blizzard hits." Ricky sighed.

"It hasn't snowed it three weeks." Josh frowned. "Why would it suddenly change?"

"No one can plan for the weather Josh. Now hurry. He's going to hurt himself." Ricky mumbled. "I can't come with you, he'll just get angry. Go to the pub. He went to find Kuza." Josh nodded, running off down the street.

"It's okay sweetie. You don't have to tell me." Kuza smiled at Devin. "Do you want to tell me what made you upset?"

"Nothing." Devin mumbled. "It was just... Ricky kept asking things and it upset me." Kuza nodded as he cleaned a glass. There was only a few Alphas and a couple Omegas left in the pub. "I ran off and didn't really know where to go."

"That's fine. You're always welcome here pup." Kuza chuckled. "You can stay upstairs in the spare room if you want." Devin nodded, smiling at him. "You know Josh cares for you right? I can see it." Kuza chuckled. Devin blushed and looked down at the bar top.

"I know. I... I've never been like this with someone." Devin mumbled.

"I thought so." Kuza smirked at him. "Are you tired?"

"I... I don't sleep very well." Devin sighed.

"I don't think you'll be sleeping here tonight." Kuza sighed. "I'll leave you two alone." Devin frowned, turning and blushing as Josh ran in.

"Oh Devin." Josh sighed. He quickly ran to him, and brought the Omega into his arms. "Don't ever run off again."

"Why did you follow me?" Devin whispered against Josh's chest.

"I needed to make sure you were safe." Josh mumbled. "It's okay if you want to stay here with Kuza for tonight." Devin bit his lip, and hesitantly wrapped his arms around Josh.

"He was mean." Devin mumbled. "But he was right. I do have to tell you what happened to me." Devin gently pushed Josh back.

"You don't have to darling. I will wait for you to be ready Dev." Josh chuckled, stroking Devin's cheek. "Where do you want to stay tonight? I don't mind if you stay here." Josh smiled at him, kissing his cheek.

"I want to stay with you." Devin mumbled as he nuzzled Josh's chest with his nose. "Please let me stay with you." Josh smiled down at him, letting the omega cuddle into him. "Are you crying?"

"Yeah." Devin shrugged. "I... I was raped." Devin mumbled looking at the ground. "I don't like talking about it very often, and that's why I'm here. I didn't want it to happen again so I took Angelo and ran away. I'm sixteen, and was able to leave."

"I'm so sorry." Josh mumbled, cupping Devin's face. "That shouldn't have ever happened to you."

"Don't pity me." Devin mumbled. "I don't want pity."

"I get it." Josh nodded. Devin sniffled, grabbing Josh's hand and playing with his fingers. Josh smiled at him, wiping Devin's tears with his free hand. "I won't let anyone do that to you. No one will hurt you ever again." Josh promised him, smiling at him. Devin smiled back, pulling Josh down and kissing him.

My apologies for this being so late at night.  I was just having trouble writing today.  I'm getting sick but I decided I needed to post something.  ^-^  I might start using song lyrics/titles for my chapter titles.
