Tapping the area lightly, the blonde frowned at the blinking light that flashed and faded beneath the flesh of her shoulder. The tracker was still embedded deep, and while she could easily remove it, the damned thing would immediately send out a signal to the device hanging around Villahr’s neck and give her away in an instant. With aid of the tracer, an intricate part of the foreign object he put in her body, and his incredibly heightened intuitive nature, the male would sniff her out within minutes and put it right back.
Karolinna looked to the garments laid out over the edge of her bed, checking them over to make sure they were secure with a slight tug at the materials. She was determined to prove to her sibling the unlikeliness that something would go wrong.
Reaching for the fitted pullover in mixed tones of black, blue and purple, the faelna yanked it down over her head, atop the white undershirt she already wore.
Villahr was in the bathroom, and Karolinna could hear the clinking of his infradai against the sink and water running as he no doubtably was washing blood off the blade. When the stream from the faucet cut off, leaving the room relatively quiet again, she had worked her way down the clothing line she had set out and was pulling on her long cloak.
Villahr didn’t enter the room for several minutes —the time surely spent stepping into a pair of loose slacks and fixing the sharp piece of metal back onto the second chain he wore around his neck — and when he did he was shirtless and still glistening from his shower.
He spent an awful lot of time in Karolinna’s room normally, but even more so now that he knew about Denaii. It was no secret that he didn’t really trust him, despite the fact that he was beginning to find his snarky attitude and out of character personality —for a vampire— to be surprisingly more appealing by the day.
Karolinna didn’t particularly mind his presence, in fact she looked forward to it most nights, but oddly enough, now it was becoming more annoying than anything. Like he had absolutely nothing better to do than check up on her. To spoil her plans.
Villahr cast the slender female a quick glance when he crossed the floor to settle himself in the chair by her desk, and she was almost certain he had chosen the spot to intentionally block her off from her exit; the open window that he was careful not to sit too close to. He watched as the female pulled a stake out of the duffle peeking out from under the bed, making a show of stuffing it into her boot.
He insisted she bring it, just in case, though it had been some time since she had felt the need to take more than one, and even longer still than she would care to admit to him, that she let thoughts linger long on the idea of using it.
The elder male says nothing as he towel dries his hair, the shine coming back to silky locks almost immediately after a few pats. It’s not until Karolinna has made her way to the window and was reaching for the curtain, that he spoke out.
“Where are you going?” he asked, but he didn’t look at her.
“Same place I’ve been going for the past few months.” The breeze was crisp and nippy as Karolinna lifted the window, exposing the room to the night air, but it felt good on her heated skin.
Villahr looked up but didn’t turn his head as if he were confident his tone would be enough to invoke his seriousness. On the off chance he was wrong, he had taken necessary precautions he was certain Karolinna had yet to notice.
“Not tonight, sisienta.” He didn’t actually say the words aloud, but Karolinna could tell by the sound of his voice previously that he had no intention of allowing her leave tonight.
The blonde hugged in frustration. She lifted the veil from her far so she could better feel the cold air on her cheeks. They felt hotter than usual.
