Nobody would've ever thought it'd be me. I mean, just look at me. I'm not at all appealing. Or hot, for that matter.
And him. He's hotter than the depths of Satan. Who would've thought he'd get the obese girl pregnant?
It was my dream for him to ge...
"Why do you even want to go with me, Michael?" He shrugs. "I want to see what they do to you?" I giggle. "What do you think they're going to do to me?"
"Stick a needle up your ass," he joked, shrugging as he drives with one hand. I smack him. "Michael!" He laughs. "I'm kidding! Honestly, I just wanna go see what they tell you."
"Why?" I question, confused as to why Michael is so interested in what the doctor will tell me. He simply shrugs and looks at me quickly. "I feel... like I should go. Like you might need someone there." His words warm my heart and heat rises to my cheeks. "And besides... I told the guys to come with us." I smack him.
"Why?!"
"Cause I accidentally told them that I wasn't going to school because I was going with you and they wanted to come along." I groan. "Luke said something about wanting to be the uncle." I snort. "Heh, yeah. Let him dream."
"That's what I said!" He muses. I giggle. He turns into a gynecologist clinic, parking as close as he can.
I step out of his car, feeling it shift as my weight is lifted. Since Michael's car is a little short and I'm kinda tall, I struggle a lot from how much effort I have to make to get out. Michael rounds the car. "Take your feet out first and then your body." I do as he says and find it much easier than stepping one leg out then trying to push myself out of the car with the other leg. "Don't worry about it. I have the same problem."
"But you don't weigh 250 pounds." I mumble as we walk in. "Weight doesn't matter, Mer." I sigh as we make it to the receptionist. "I'm learning that the hard way."
"Hello! Name?" The nurse asks. "Meredith Hart." I squeak out, feeling a little nervous from the amount of pregnant and non-pregnant women in the waiting room. The nurse types my name into the computer and nods. She hands me a number and asks me to sit down. Michael and I turn around, right when Luke and Calum walk through the door.
They're laughing stops as soon as they see all the women in the room and my glare. They smile meekly, and sit beside the door.
Before I can even sit down, my number is called. I turn around as the three boys stand up, following behind me. The nurse stops me and says only family. "My brothers." She gives me a weird look.
"He's the dad," Luke points at Michael. Both Michael and I turn to glare at him. "Alright."
They take us into a room, where I am instructed to sit on a chair, similar to one you'd see at a dentist, and wait for the doctor.
There's only two chairs, so Michael stays standing earn neither Luke or Calum lets him sit on their lap. I scoot a little and pat the small space. He sits and sighs. "So what now?" I shrug.
This is the part where Luke and Calum ask random questions that make me want to throw something at them. Right when Luke is about to ask if they're gonna cut open my stomach, the doctor walks in.
She smiles at the three giraffes in the room and grins at me. "You must be Meredith Hart." She sticks her hand out for me to shake. Then she looks at Michael and sticks the same polished hand out. "You are the dad, I assume?" Michael's mouth drops and his cheeks redden. I'm about to say no, but Calum beats me to it.
"Yeah. And we're the uncles." She nods and smiles at them. When in about to say no again she starts talking and I don't want to interrupt.
She asks me a couple of questions and looks at Michael expectantly, as if he knows the answer. "Okay, so..."
She pulls out tube and asks me to lift my stomach. I hear Calum snicker, about to say something but when Luke smacks him and I glare, he stops.
Yes, I have stretch marks and rolls of fat, but dude. Stop. Just...no.
She squirts some of the gel on my stomach. I jump from the temperature. She apologizes, then proceeds to take out a small stick thing. She runs it between my abdomen and asks me to unbutton my jeans a little so she can run it along my waistline. Calum and Luke start groaning and Michael hisses at them.
The monitor next to the doctor lights up and she shows me a black and white picture. In the middle, there's a small bean shaped life form. "Alright, mommy. That... right there," she points when she freezes the monitor and puts the stick away. "That's your baby. Your about five or six weeks." She hands me napkins to wipe napkins. Michael is standing next to me. He's staring at the monitor with awe and his eyes are a bit glossy. Calum and Luke stand next to him with almost the same look but without glossy eyes.
"I thought it's supposed to look like a baby." The doctor laughs. "Not till a few more months. Now," she speaks to me. "I'm going to prescribe you some prenatal pills. Here are some books that will help you keep you and your baby healthy. Go with Cassie in the front and she'll give you your next appointment. Have a nice day!" We stand and I thank her, walking out. Both of the boys walk out slowly and as soon as we're out of the clinic, they start rambling.
"It's so small!"
"Honestly it was cute!"
"I can't believe that bean is gonna be a baby." Michael says last. I giggle and stop at his car. Calum, Luke and Michael stand around me. "Thank you, guys." I softly say after I feel like everyone's recovered from what they just saw.
"I could've sworn I was gonna cry after seeing that. Almost everyone does." I whisper. Michael hugs me with one arm. "Almost everyone does eventually."
"But let's be honest," I say in a clear voice, smirking at Calum and Luke. "All three of you wanted to cry."
They blush and look away from me. "Shut up, Meredith." I chuckle.
