"When are you gonna tell the parentals?" Andrew says as he walks into my room while I do my homework. Looking up momentarily, I bite my lip trying to fight that nervous feeling in my stomach. "What if they unadopt us?" He chuckles. "You know they'd never do that." While he's right, my mind still finds a way to convince me how bad things can go. And while they're possibilities, they also seem like the harsh reality. "I just don't wanna risk it," I murmur, biting my pencil out of frustration. "They're going to find out eventually." I groan, grab a pillow and hide my face. I'm about to speak when I smell something. It smells amazing. Heavenly even. "Kids! Food!" My eyes light up and I smile at Andrew who gives me an amused look. I stand out of my bed, running towards the kitchen. First thing I see are the white paper bags with a red logo printed on them. My smile widens when she holds out my bag. I quickly take out the sandwich and bite it. She laughs then frowns when she looks at the floor.

"Why are your feet swollen?" The door to the house opens and dad walks in with scrubs. "I smell food." He says, hugging me sideways and kissing my head. He notices my mom's frown and ends up having the same look. "What's wrong?"

"Mere's feet are swollen." I take a slow bite out of my sandwich as they both stare at my feet. Dad places his hands on the counter and looks directly at me. "Are you okay?" I gulp and take another bite, nodding. He sighs. "Don't lie to us, Meredith." I breathe out shakily and hold my hands together, pulling at my fingers. "I— I'm just— It's cold and—"

"She's pregnant." Andrew says for me, coming up from behind. Maya and Lucas, mom and dad, looked at each other in utter silence. My nerves were spiraling out of control and I was shaking in fear. All for nothing. Next thing I know, dad takes out his wallet and hands mom a $20 bill. She takes it gracefully and her thoughtful look turns into a smirk. She grabs the dollar bill with both her fore finger and thumb, passing it under her nose to smell it. "That is the smell of victory."

Andrew laughs and pats me on the back. He walks around me and grabs his bag of food. They all continue eating and talking as if what is going on with me isn't a big deal. "What's happening?" I ask, confused at their actions. I expected them to freak out, blame each other, or to get kicked out of the house. And worse! Call Social Services and demand for me to be un-adopted and removed from their house. "They figured it out, Meredith. You really don't know how to keep a secret."

"You owe me for cleaning up after your vomit. And wasting money on your food cravings." I furrow my eyebrows. "I was really hoping you weren't pregnant Meredith. That way I wouldn't pay your mother 20 dollars. But hey, I'm a grandpa." He takes a big hungry bite out of his sandwich. "So you're okay with this?"

"Of course! I've always wanted a baby and... we can finally put that empty room to some good use." I finish my sandwich silently and then eat my fries. "But there is one question." Dad says, taking a sip from his drink. I nod slowly, following his actions.

"Who's the dad?"

"Please be nice. It took me a while to get him to come around." Mom chuckles. "Relax. I'm a cool mom, am I not?" I sigh and nod. I look through my purse, that I had to force myself to use and take out the last ultrasound I took. "I have met him before, right?" I nod and hold out the picture. She's about to say something more but her eyes stop on the picture. Her hands slowly reach out for it and take it from mine. "What are these two circles?" She asks dumbfounded. I roll my eyes. "Babies."

"There's two of 'em, though?" She says confused. Then her eyes widen. "Holy shit." I laugh.

"Am I late?" Ashton voice speaks, cutting through our conversation. I look up at him and smile lightly, shaking my head. Mom though, she glares at him, then squints, looking at Ashton from head to toe. He squirms in his position, uncomfortable and scared of how she's looking at him. I roll my eyes and laugh lightly. Mom smiles and stands up, holding out her hand. "Maya Friar, Meredith's mother."

He looks surprised for a moment and looks between her face and her hand. Finally, he shakes it. "Ashton Irwin, father of Meredith and I's offspring." She smiles wide and looks at me. "You bringing around two boys? Boy have I taught you well." My cheeks redden and I shake my head. "Ashton's not my boyfriend, ma. He has a girlfriend and so do I."

"You have a girlfriend?" She smirks.

"No! I have a boyfriend," I quickly reply. Ashton smirks. "Meredith, I had no idea."

"You shut up." He laughs.

"So he's your boyfriend?" I groan and cover my face. "No, ma. Michael's my boyfriend." Her eyes light up. "Oh yeah! I love Michael. Sweet kid." Then she goes back to her magazine. Ashton laughs and sits down next to me. He grabs a magazine from the pile and opens it. As he looks through the pages, I realize he's actually reading an article made for first time fathers "Hope you don't mind, but mom wants to meet you. And I promised I'd ask you and your family to come to dinner." Mom's head quirks up. "When?"

"Well since it's Friday... today? If that's okay?" I look back over to Mom and she's quick to act as if she wasn't watching. "What do you think mom?" I smirk. She looks up, absentmindedly. "What?"

"Dinner at Ashton's today?" She looks between us and nods. "Sounds great."

"Meredith Hart." I stand, Ashton and my mom following. I shake the doctor's hand and introduce her to my mom. Doctor said I was doing fine and I'm doing good by watching my weight. My two little ones are healthy and she said she wanted to see me next week to find out the gender of the babies if I was willing. "Unless you want the genders to be a surprise?" My mouth opens and I look to Ashton. He states back at me with the same questioning look. Then he shrugs. "Our friends made a bet. We might not wanna make them wait four more months." I smile wide and nod.

"The nurse at the front will give you the appointment." I pull my shirt down and slide off the table with Ashton's help. My mom says goodbye to the doctor and follows us out. As soon as I'm in the car and I've said goodbye to Ashton, I suddenly feel really tired and out of breath.

"You okay there?" I nod and lie my head back. "I just wanna go home and sleep."

"I can't imagine how you'll be when you get a little bigger." She chuckles. Getting a major headache as we arrive home, I climb out of the car and walk inside, to my room. I kick off my shoes, close my door and remove my shirt. I change out of my jeans into shorts and lie down, shirtless. I pull the blanket over me and knock out instantly.

I hate college. It's only been 6 days and I already got kicked out of a class for not doing the right paper.

Anyways, my life sucks. How are you guys?
