Chapter 4 : Past Memories
Victoria
I sat there as he stared at that picture for what looked like thirty minutes.
"Who is she?" I asked looking up at him his attention was still on the photo. I thought he wasn't going to answer but he did.
"She was my youngest sister." He stated clearing his throat and letting out a shaky breath.
"Was? What happen to her?"
He looked at me and shook his head.
"it's a long story Victoria--"
"I've got time" I replied wanting to know so badly.
He narrowed his eyes at me and shut them for awhile. When he opened them again he spoke.
"I was about nineteen when my life changed.
We were at the beach having fun taking pictures and it just was a peaceful day. Until we got home. Some people came after my sister. I never knew who did it or why they came. They... They... Rapped her and killed her. And tied me up to watch.. When my parents died I promised to protect her and..." He trailed off shaking his head, and looking over to the picture. I felt a tear leave my eye. He went through hell. And I could tell he was close to her, and wanted to keep his promise to his parents.
"I was also beaten by my dad. He hated me so much, I never knew why he hated me so much. My mom never knew he was beating on me. He would act all sweet around my mom when I was around. My life story connects to yours so much, that's why when you told me your story I broke down into pieces." He finished letting out a sigh.
I was speechless. I knew my story connected to his, I just knew it. Too much worry and hurt was written on his face.
I grasped his hand.
I wanted to comfort him in anyway that I could.
Something else crossed my mind.
The cure.
I jumped up and went over to the bag.
"I need you to help me..." I said going in the bag and grabbing a tube.
"With what?"
"The cure, I have the virus remember..." I countered. This was a two people assignment.
"What do you need me to do?"
"I need you to make sure I wake up exactly thirty minutes after I take it, it will knock me out in one minute... It will give you a head start "
He nodded his head understanding what he needed to do.
I sat down on the couch next to him. Looking up at him I hesitated.
"What?"
"I.. I.. Don't--"
"Don't worry you will know when to wake me up..."
I said getting in position to drink the blue thick substance that displayed in the clear tube.
I threw my head back and drunk the liquid. The taste was tangy and sweet. I felt my head spin and my eyes started to get heavy. I felt myself fall on the couch. I slowly closed my eyes and drifted into a deep sleep.

Torian's P.O.V:
She passed out on the couch a minute later. I just starred at her in shock. Mouth wide open. What do I do now..? I tapped my fingers together and looked at her. She looked dead... Almost like her life ended right there. I wanted to wake her up so desperately. But I remembered what she said... Her words played in my head like a broken record.
"I need you to make sure I wake up exactly thirty minutes after i take it, it will knock me out in one minute..."
I shook my head and her voice came again.
"Don't worry you will know when to wake me up..."
How!? I yelled at myself shaking my head. This was so unreal... How could this be happening... What if I wake her up too late... She would be dead.
No! I scolded myself
Don't think like that Torian.
I looked at the clock and five minutes already passed, I was getting more nervous by the minute.
I got up and paced around. Not wasting a second looking at the clock every two seconds.
I went to go retrieve some water to drink. I practically shoved the water down my throat.
Why was she having so much affect on me? I only known her for about two days.
I walked back into the living room and looked at the clock. Ten minutes had past. I got even more nervous than before.
I sat down and shut my eyes and thought about what Victoria just told me... The cure, her mom beating her, and her being on her own.
I looked at the clock and fifteen minutes went past. Time was going entirely too slow. I just wanted this to be over and to see her beautiful face again.
What was I saying? Was I falling for her already? This wasn't me... I don't do these things. Why did I help her in the alley... If I knew it would bring so much trouble I wouldn't have did it... Wait no pause that...
Yes I would because I'm just too nice.
I took in another deep breath and looked at the clock again. Twenty minutes had went past. The time to wake her up was getting closer and closer.
I hoped I knew what I was doing.
I tapped my index finger on my knee and stared at her. She looked so peaceful. She was beautiful, the most beautiful girl I ever laid my eyes on.
I snapped out of my daze and looked at the clock again twenty-five minutes flew by. I wonder what it must be like for her right now? I just couldn't believe she talked me into doing this... Of course I was going to have to do it sooner or later because the virus was in her system already.
I looked at the clock again and saw that twenty-eight minutes pasted.
I started to shake.
I never have been this worried in my whole entire life. What was happening to me? Why was I so shaken up.
All I had to do was wake her up in thirty minutes, that wasn't so hard.
Was it?
I got up and walked towards her.. I stopped and looked at the clock once more and saw that it was after twenty-nine minutes.. Just seconds away from thirty minutes.
I watched the clock in desperation as the big hand made it's way toward the eight.. Then the nine.... Then...
I reached down and shook her abruptly but gently as I could. I waited for her to wake but she didn't. I felt a silver of fear run over me.
I shook her uncontrollably and waited again..
No response.
I got angry mixed with a little bit of scared and shook her again and waited.
I heard of gasp for air... The pit of relief filled my stomach and I knew she had awoken.
