"Do you think Martyn is going to enter?" Elsa asked. We were sitting on the floor in front of the fireplace in our common room. Well, Elsa was sitting. I was lying on the floor on my stomach, my feet in the air behind me.

"Maybe, I dunno. Gryffindors are brave, after all." I continued to doodle on my transfiguration homework.

"I can't believe McGonagall let's you turn in homework like that! My friend Rhaenys in Ravenclaw doodled on her paper and McGonagall gave her a zero!" Elsa exclaimed. I shrugged.

"She loves me," I replied, giggling. Elsa rolled her eyes and laughed. "Do you think Alex is gonna enter?"

"No way. He may value chivalry and courage, but he's a Hufflepuff at heart."

I laughed. Alex is Elsa's older brother. He's a seventh year Gryffindor. I've never met him, but Elsa's never had a bad thing to say about him.

"So tell me more about Dan," she said, looking me in the eye. I blushed. "I mean, you've already brought it up in the Hall--"

"No, I haven't told him yet."

"Come on, Phil! My ship has to sail!"

"Elsa! Keep your voice down!" My eyes widened in alarm.

"Relax, Phil. Everyone's asleep." Elsa giggled.

"Not risking it," I replied. Elsa rolled her eyes once more.

"Usually I'm the one who says that."

I laughed, nudging her shoulder with mine. "Great minds think alike."

She shoved me. "I'm gonna head to bed. G'night."

"Night Elsa."

"Phil!" Dan's voice yelled. I turned just in time for him to attack me with a hug.

"Whoa!" I exclaimed, laughing.

I glanced around, noticing our friends were nowhere to be found.

"D'ya think there's gonna be a trip to Hogsmeade this year with the tournament and all?" Dan asked, interlacing our fingers as we walked to the Great Hall.

"I dunno. I hope so--I wanted to get to Honeydukes again," I replied. Dan laughed. Then his expression dimmed.

[ELSA WROTE THIS NEXT PARRRRRT IM SOOOOOO PROOOOOOUUUUUUUDDD]

"Should we tell them?" he whispered, suddenly serious.

"Tell them...?" I prompted, even though I already knew what he was asking.

"About... us." Dan rubbed circles on my hand with his thumb.

"Dan... I think we should tell them," I said. "If it's all right with you."

Dan quickly scanned the corridor before he gave me a quick kiss on the cheek.

"You know," I began, trying to avoid the blush heating up my cheeks. "Elsa ships us, like, hardcore. I think she's already named our kids."

"Hmm, really? I think she and Jamie worked on naming them together then, and apparently Jamie is the godmother of the oldest and Elsa of the youngest." Dan smiled. I laughed.

* (another timeskip to dinner)

"Elsa, Neville, can you... uh... come here for a quick sec?" I nervously called as everyone was heading out to dinner.

"Okay." Elsa shrugged and skipped over, followed by Neville who just walked.

"Okay, well, uh..." I made sure everyone left for dinner before I quietly said, "Dan and I have been dating ever since this summer."

"YES! YES!" Elsa began twirling around.

"Uh, Els--"

Neville got cut off by Elsa linking arms with him, then beginning to square dance.

"MY OTP! OTP!" She laughed giddily.

"I--really--am--happy--for--you--two!" Neville panted as Elsa swung him around.

"Elsa, Elsa! You're going to give him a concussion!" I stopped Elsa, and she just grinned.

"My OTP. My future godchildren. My hunger!" And with that, she skipped off to the Great Hall for dinner. Neville and I looked at each other, laughed and followed.

"Jamie, Draco, don't go to dinner just yet." I stopped them from heading out with everyone else. Jamie looked at me with concern as I stood there awkwardly, wringing my hands.

"Oh, Drakey! Why have you stopped?" Pansy purred in Draco's ear.

"Go save me a seat, Pansy," he ordered, and Pansy happily obliged.

"Dan, is everything okay?" Jamie raised an eyebrow.

"Well," I looked around to make sure no one was in the common room, "Phil and I have been dating."

"Congratulations!" Jamie hugged me with that troublemaker smile on her face, while Draco just looked confused.

"Wait, I thought only guys could like girls?" Draco asked.

"No, some guys like guys and some girls like girls. You didn't know that?" Jamie asked.

"No, Mother and Father told me that that was the law," Draco responded.

"Draco, do you not know what it means to be gay or lesbian?" I asked in disbelief, and Draco shook his head.

"Someone who is gay is a guy who likes guys, and someone who is lesbian is a girl who likes girls. But some people (asswipes) disapprove of that," Jamie explained. I thought of how she was agender, asexual and demiromantic. Her identity was a lot more complicated than my being gay.

"Why?" Draco wondered, frowning a bit. "What if their true love is the same gender?"

"They don't care because they're fucktards," Jamie responded. I chuckled.

"Well, then I'm happy for you, Dan," Draco said to me sincerely, something that shocked Jamie and me. "And if people make fun of you just because you're gay, I'll make sure my father hears about it! I'm going to dinner now."

He left, and Jamie and I looked at each other.

"He's a peculiar one, that Draco," Jamie noted. I laughed and hugged her.

"Thank you for having my back," I whispered. She kissed my hair (platonically, of course--we were like siblings).

"Always."
