I should apologise to Dan, I thought as I headed to the Slytherin common room. Elsa skipped dinner just to avoid drama, for Merlin's sake!

I opened the common room door and saw Dan laying on the couch reading a book.

Before I could say anything, Draco also walked in.

Dan looked up and saw Draco before rolling his eyes and going to his dorm.

"He's really serious about this," I muttered to myself.

"What's that?" Draco asked.

"Oh, I was just saying how Dan is being meaner than usual when he's mad," I explained.

"Elsa's ignoring me too." Draco looked dejected.

"What happened?" I asked.

"In the library she didn't talk to
me at all, and when she finally did say something it was her saying she doesn't like to be called a Mudblood," Draco sighed. "What should I do? It bugs me when Elsa isn't talking."

"I don't even know what I'm gonna do about Dan." I sighed. "You could try apologising to Elsa?"

"Malfoys don't apologise," Draco responded.

"Neither do Montgomerys." I rolled my eyes. "Draco, if you want to make it up to Elsa you have to apologise."

"Fine, fine," he huffed, and stood up.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"To apologise," Draco stated as if it were obvious.

"Not now! Elsa's probably in bed. You should go, too," I told him.

"You're right. G'night, Jamie." Draco yawned.

"Night," I responded. But I knew I wasn't going to be sleeping anytime soon. I couldn't. I was too busy thinking about Dan and Draco and Elsa, and how torn Phil and Neville must feel, and how everyone was just being stupid, and I wished it was like the beginning of the year when we all got along.

-

Come morning, and I hadn't gotten a minute of shut-eye the night before. As I braided my hair sloppily to the side, I noticed how dark the bags were under my eyes. I realised how long it had been since I'd gotten a decent night's sleep.

I yawned and grabbed my sketchbook, opening to the first page. I'd had this sketchbook since I met Draco when we were eight.

The first fourth of the book was mainly from when I was depressed, which only Draco knew about. If you told Elsa or Dan now that I had been depressed from ages six to eleven, they'd laugh and say that that's ridiculous.

Draco was the one who pulled me out of the slump. My parents hated me for it, called it a blemish on the family name. Kylie stuck by my side some of the time, but we slowly drifted apart as Draco and I bonded over our dysfunctional families.

I thumbed through the pages, smiling at a few notes Draco had written to cheer me up. Yes, Draco had actually written notes to cheer me up. He's really not that bad. I just hope Elsa forgives him.

I sighed and went down to the common room, and saw Dan.
He saw me too, and was about to leave before I grabbed his wrist.

"You are not leaving yet," I snapped in one of the most serious tones I've ever used. Dan could tell I meant business, so he stopped. "Dan, you have been incredibly rude, disrespectful and downright awful to me and Draco this past few weeks. To be honest, I expected nothing more. But I'm willing if you are to forget this all happened and go back to the way it was before. I don't care if you're angry, or if you're hurt. Draco is my family, and so are you if you start acting like it. So get your head out of your arse and just be you, Dan. Stop being this high and mighty prat and just be my best friend again. Please?"

Dan stared at me a bit, then a blush slowly crept up onto his cheeks. "I-I know... I should have apologised sooner and I shouldn't have been so mean. I just... you know how I get."

"So?"

Dan smiled. "So yes, I'm willing to forget this all happened as well."

I grinned and hugged him. "And I wasn't lying, you know. You're all my family."

"And you're mine."

"So does this mean you forgive Draco too?" I looked up hopefully at Dan.

"Eh..." He hesitated.

"Dan, Draco has been raised completely different than we have, and yet he still treats us differently then what he's been taught because he knows how it would make us comfortable," I told him.

"In that case... Yeah, I do," Dan gave a smile.

"Great! So, wanna go down to the Great Hall for breakfast?" I asked.

"Sure," Dan shrugged, and we both headed down.

I was walking towards the Great Hall when I was stopped by Draco.

"Elsa!" he called. My eyes widened, and I looked down and tried to walk around him, but he kept blocking my way. Seeing that I couldn't get away, I said,

"Yes?"

"I'm really, really sorry for calling you a Mudblood. You are so much more than that and I really miss talking to you. Please forgive me?" Draco pleaded.

"Okay," I told him without a second thought. He could've just asked for me to forgive him and I would've said yes.

"Really?" Draco looked shocked.

"Yeah, why not? Let's go down for breakfast!" I said, and began skipping down when I noticed Draco was walking. "Why are you walking?" I asked.

"What do you mean?" He arched an eyebrow.

"Skipping is faster than walking," I informed him.

"But walking is normal," he protested.

"Oh my Disney." I shook my head before I dragged him with me as I skipped down.

Phil and I were walking towards the Great Hall when we saw Jamie and Dan talking.

"Jamie! Dan!" I called out, and they both looked over at us. Phil and I ran over to them, and Phil asked,

"So you guys made up?"

"In a way." Jamie smirked.

"What does that mean?" I asked.

"Long story." Dan waved it off. "Anyway, are you heading down for breakfast too?"

"Dan, where else would they be going?" Jamie teased.

"Shut up." Dan rolled his eyes.

"C'mon, breakfast is waiting!" Jamie grabbed his and my hands, and Dan grabbed Phil's and we all ran to the Great Hall.
