"So how many people do you think are actually gonna show up?" I asked while I helped the guys get their band equipment in my backyard. They were gonna play tonight and I was pretty stoked. Their music is coming a long way and I would be surprised if they don't start getting noticed soon.
"Probably a crap ton.. We throw the best parties." Brendon of course had to cockily answer.
"Dude, what are you talking about? We've never even thrown a party and we all know we don't have many friends." Ryan added with a laugh.
Brendon held a hand up to his chest with a sad look on his face, pretending as if Ryan's words had damaged his ego.
Later we were still setting up for the party. Jon was unloading all of the cases of beer he brought. Spencer was still trying to set up his drums, and who knows where Ryan went. On the other hand, Bren was forcing me to help him pick out an outfit to supposedly 'impress Audrey.'
"Brendon, all of these shirts are hideous, I mean really, why in the world do you have a lilac hoodie?"
"Ugh. Just please help me."
"Okay fine, but none of those outfits are gonna work. We still have two hours till the party starts so let's go."
"Go where?"
"To find some clothes to make you look hot. I'm sorry Bren but those striped shirts aren't going to get you laid."
I ended up buying Brendon some skinny jeans and a tight black low-cut shirt. I will admit, Brendon looked hot and I was very impressed with myself.
Back at the house people started rolling in. By the first hour there was at least fifty people in my house, most of which I had no clue who they even were. Everything was running quite smoothly, the music didn't stop and drinks kept coming.
I decided Joh and Spencer were already wasted, might even be high after I had a conversation with them about them not wanting to be wrapped in a burrito when the die, whatever the hell that means.
I saw Brendon talking to a girl with very vibrant pink hair, whom I assumed was Audrey. I walked over, figuring I should introduce myself to the one my best friend has been annoyingly swooning over.
"Oh hey Elena this is Audrey!" Brendon said very enthusiastically.
"Hey nice to finally meet you, Brendon hasn't shut up about you for an entire week!" She blushed and shyly replied. I looked over at Bren and he was really giving me the stink eye. 'Hmm was it something I said' I thought sarcastically to myself.
"Woah sweet piercing! I reached up and touched her septum ring. She looked at me kinda weird so I figured I might have over stepped my boundaries. I said bye and awkwardly walked away, hoping to find Ryan.
I found him sitting, talking to some guys about The Beatles or something like that. Everyone was dancing outside and I was tipsy and really wanted to dance.
"Ryro come dance with me!"
"Really Elena..I don't dance."
"Come on.. Jon and Spencer are drunk and high off their asses and Brendon is over with Audrey." I gave him puppy eyes.
Of course Ryan couldn't just leave me hanging so we were dancing crazily before they performed, which I had no clue how Spence and Jon were gonna play.
And soon enough, Ryan left and followed the other guys up to the mini stage we made out of my porch. They started off with one of their more upbeat songs. The crowd seemed to really love them, everyone was dancing along and cheering. The guys really were doing awesome for this being their first time playing in front of anyone other than me and their parents. I've been coming to all of their practices so I know most of the lyrics to their songs.
I ended up video taping the whole thing and putting it on YouTube. By the end of the night I wasn't surprised to see that they already had gotten 200 views.
