5 years later
"Watch where you're fucking going." Some chubby man yelled after running into me. I've been living here for three years yet I still can't believe how rude people in New York are.
Yep New York. After I graduated from North Carolina I decided it was time to get away from my parents and spread my wings. So here I am in NYC, practically living my dream as a professional photographer. In fact, I was actually on my way to my own studio before that asshole decided to run into me.
After college I started doing little gigs like weddings and I eventually got my name out there and saved up enough money to open up my own studio. Now I'm one of the most profound photographers in the whole state.
"Hey Elena." I was greeted by my coworker, and also best friend Jessica.
"Hey Jess, sorry I'm late I ran into some douche bag."
"It's New York, what else is new."
I met Jessica a few years back when I first moved here. She was looking for a job so I offered her one here at the studio and we instantly clicked.
"Someone called, their number is over there. I told them you'd call them back." She said pointing to the phone. That's weird people usually just call wanting to schedule appointments and Jess handles all that.
After I helped out a few customers I finally got around to calling whoever back.
"Hello" a man greeted.
"Hi, this is Elena Harris from Lens Queen studios. I believe you called earlier?"
"Oh yes! Elena hello, my name is Samuel Jenkins. I've seen a lot of your work and I was wondering if you'd be interested in a job offer I have."
This sounds kinda sketchy but I have been pretty bored lately at the studio.
"I'm listening." I said
"Great. You see I'm the manager of the band Twenty One Pilots, I don't know if you've heard of them but they're going on tour this winter with two other bands and we're desperately in need of a photographer. It could be a great opportunity and not only will we be paying for your whole trip, you'll also be paid roughly $500 per night."
"What other bands will they be touring with?" I couldn't help but ask.
"I believe Fall Out Boy an—"
"Oh my God I'm in!" I interrupted. Don't judge, come on.. touring with Fall Out Boy, who wouldn't?
"I thought you'd say that." Samuel chuckled.
"So what do I need to do."
"Well with that being said, we're going to have to fly you out to L.A by next week because the tour starts the following week after that. I'll explain more once your here."
After explaining that my flight would be taken care of and they'd supply me with cameras and equipment, I hung up to phone and began to process everything that just happened. Not only will I be touring with my favorite bands but I will also be doing what I love.
