Chapter one: Alot Can Happen In a Few Years

 Standing with Radar in hand I quickly switched between channels of the General issue communicator.

"Ma'am VAK is attacking again!" Major Yam Screamed into his com. I had finally figured out the controls on the device. Looking down at the radar I easily picked out the enemy and pin pointed the coordinates.

" Watch your back, they're heading for the Arch." I calmly replied trying not to let the anxiety creep into my voice. I havn't lead against a raid in a while and I was happy to prove I still had it in me. Gun shots could be heard in the distance. " All men get to your assigned squads and posts, THIS IS NOT A DRILL." I announced over the small communicator in my ear. It seems my message has gotten through as soldiers rush for the gun lockers and their power suits. " You two come with me!" I shouted over the commotion at the two medics who were bustling to get their power suits on. They eagerly followed jumping around trying not to hit any of the infantry. I got a skimmer out of the hangar and ordered the medics to get in. The explosions got louder as we traveled into District three.

Over the com General Horatio was quickly ordering pilots on bombing missions and giving cordinates for picking up wounded soilders. " Skimmer 3 - get 20* north of D4 we have a wounded soldiers in need of medical transportation ASAP!" Shouted Horatio, on the verge of going and doing it himself. 

"Get ready boys." I commanded to the hospital medics who were bustling around getting prepared for the incoming troops. The squad medics were grabbing gear as fast as they possibly could. "Dog, Cosl, get over here." Two of squad medics ran over.  "Cosl, take a medkit, and get to D4 asap. Dog, grab a kit and some bandages, your the medic with the escort, wait out front for skimmer 3.  "I ordered, and without a question the two medics shot out the door and to the ground level.

* Above the Capital City, 3,000 Miles into the atmosphere*

"Sir we are going down fast!!" Shouted a Corporal from the control room. General Blockshady was in the hangar when he got the massage. He sprinted up the three flights of stairs only half way touching every other step before springing up to the next flight. When he finally reached the control room the sirens were baring, men running ramped and the VAK fighters were everywere outside.  "General Block to station Alpha; we have lost control in Station Omega, evacuating and abandoning." Block calmly sent the message to Alpha station, home of the 2nd space squad, and training base for most of the clans pilots and space fleet.

"Lieutenant get these men to the capital safely, put up your shields and stay under the camo until you have safly entered the capital." Commanded Block as he took the two remaining soldiers to the remaining fighters. Explosions rattled the ship and knocked it off its axis dumping out the troop carrier before it was completely closed and could take off. Block sprinted to his fighter , and took off before it could be dumped out the bottom, one of the two pilots, a newly promoted privet, was only half way in and his fighter sped out from under him catching his leg and shooting him into space. The General paused and bowed his head at the fallen pilot, just to look up and find a whole squad of VAK fighters flying at him. They starred to attack, and before either of the two survivors could respond to the suprize, the other pilot, Lt Madman went down in flames. 'God Rockets going to have my neck for his soldier' Block thought in the back of his mind. He looked up again and grabbed his gun controls, shooting to the mob of VAK fighters and dodging the phasers. Alone he downed five fighters and sent another three into a spiral. Suddenly another fighter, a little different from the rest, appeared out of no where and sent Blockshady down into the Capital city limits. He landed right outside the monument. He dizzily climbed out of the heap of metal before siting up against the monument wall and went unconscious.
