Bella's POV:

Study hall

I was just about to text Shayden when Jayden walked into class. His shy green eyes met mine and I looked away.

Why do I even like this nerd?

I'm out of his league.

He couldn't handle me if he tried.

Or... What if he's a freak?

 I definitely couldn't handle that.

My virgin ass.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when Jayden said Hi to me. I greeted back, pretending to be annoyed. I can't let him know I like him.

I honestly have no idea why I suddenly feel attracted to him. Today was the first time we ever talked, let alone spared a glance at one another.

Class started and I couldn't focus. My head was filled with thoughts of the guy in front of me.

I find it cute that he is left-handed, and love when he runs his fingers through his hair. I'm guessing he does that whenever he's nervous or embarrassed, considering he did it when his face got red.

I also wonder why he's so shy.

So, being the nosey person that I am, I tap him on his shoulder.

He turned around and I could have sworn that I fell in love.

His lips are full and are the prettiest shade of pink.

They look so soft and kissable-

Bella calm down, you can't like him.

"Huh?" His soft voice comes out, once again avoiding eye contact with me.

He's so adorable, I want to coo.

GET. IT. TOGETHER. GIRL. I tell myself.

Clearing my throat I ask, "Can I ask you something?" He looked taken aback but nodded anyway.

"Are you shy?" "Why do you ask that?" He blushed. "Because you're avoiding eye contact, you blush a lot, and I only see you talking to that tall boy. What's his name again?" "Kyle." "Yea, him. Sorry, I forgot his name, he barely talks." "Yea, he's kinda antisocial." He mutters.

"So... Why don't you talk to people?" I ask, curiously. "I- I c-can't tell you." he stutters, looking down.

I have to find out why he's so shy.

"Um... Here's my number." I reach forward and gently take his hand and write down my number on his palm.

His hand is so soft and warm! I mentally facepalm myself for thinking this way.

He blushes super hard; I swear this boy is going to be the death of me.

He hesitates before he retracts his hand.

"Can I have yours?" I ask, knowing he wouldn't text me first. "U-um... S-ure." he stutters shyly. I give him my hand so he can write his number on it.

He smiles and writes it down. "I knew you wouldn't text me so I'll text you," I say, looking at him through my eyelashes.

Trying to hide his blush, he immediately turns around. I tap him on his shoulder again.

It takes him a few seconds to turn around, but he does eventually. "You're gonna have to tell me one day." "Tell you what?" He looks confused. "Why you don't talk to people, mister." My lips rise slightly. He smiles back, showing those beautiful teeth.

Lord, please help me.

"One day," I hear him whisper to himself.

"Yea, one day," I whisper back, gently.

He looks into my eyes, shocked.

 I laugh, "I heard you."

This makes him blush and turn around once again.

Jayden's POV:

I can't believe Bella Smith just talked to me.

She probably just feels bad for me.

Why do people always do me like this, they pretend to be my friend but the next thing I know, they're ignoring me.

Bella would never like me.

I can't stop thinking about her warm chocolate skin, beautiful smile, soothing voice, big brown eyes, that laugh, and those lips!

My gosh, I just want to grab and kiss her.

Snap out of it Jayden, you're out of her league.

I can't tell her why I'm shy, it's too embarrassing.

And it's not like she actually cares.

I felt a tap on my shoulder, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I blink and there's Bella smiling down at me.

"School's over," She laughs. "Oh... I was just-" "Don't worry, I daydream in class too." Still smiling, she waves goodbye as she walks out of the class.

"Mouse Boy, she's out of your league. Don't get your hopes up." I look up and it's Perry. I swear this dude makes me sick. I get up and walk out of the class.

This is why I don't talk to people.

I walk to my locker to get my biology book for homework, ugh.

"Dude, you good?" I close my locker and see Kyle with a smirk on his face.

"Yeah bro I'm good." "Dude, no you're not, I've known you for a hundred years. I know when you're lying."

Alec and I have been best friends since birth. He's my brother from another mother. He understands me.

"Fine. It's Bella." I mutter as we start walking to the parking lot.

"Who? Bella Smith?" He asks, bewildered. "Yeah," I say, looking down. He stops.

"Brooo, you're joking right?" I stop as well. "No. She talked to me in bio and study hall. Also, we're "spouses" now," I say, putting air quotes around the word "spouses."

His mouth is wide open.

I snap my fingers in his face and he jumps. I burst out laughing at the expression he was wearing. "Dude, what's so funny?" He asks, still looking shocked. "You." "Shut up. Tell me how your wife is making you angry or whatever that you are." He says, emphasizing the word "wife." "She's not my wife and she's only talking to me because she feels sorry for me," I grumble.

We continue walking to our cars.

"Why do you think that?" He asks as we unlock our doors. "Because, why would a girl like her talk to a guy like me without feeling sorry for them?" "True," He nods. "Yeah, and I got her number." Alec runs around my car, "What the f***?" I laugh as he runs towards me.

"How the f*** did you get Bella Smith, the rudest girl in the world number." "She's not rude... Well, when she's not with her clique." "Mhm whatever, so how did you get it?" "She gave it to me in study hall, she asked for mine after she wrote hers on my hand because she thought I wouldn't text her." Kyle snorts, "She's right, dude you're scared of the ladies. Get like mio." He points to himself, trying to strike a pose. "Um. Nah I'm good." "Whatever dude."

I show him my hand that has her number on it. "I'm done." Kyle runs around screaming, "He's serious!" I laugh at him and get into my black and white 2015 challenger.

"Bro you straight crazy. I'll call you when I finish my homework." I say as I get into my car. Kyle's mouth drops. "Why didn't you tell me that we had homework?" "You didn't ask, fam." He walks to my door and we do our "bro handshake." "See ya bro."

After that, he ran back into the school.

This guy is messed up in the head I swear. I chuckle and pull out of the parking lot.

What a day.
