tyler,
i didn't know I could die this way
tell my mom i'm sorry
and that there’s leftover lasagna in the fridge
i didn't mean to hurt you
i see you cry every night
you were my best friend
i loved you
there's a lot i didn’t say before i left
that my hair is naturally curly
you only ever saw it straight
that i had a dog named picasso when i was five
he liked to eat iceberg lettuce
but my neighbor ran him over with her honda
she was always jealous of me
or that i had a secret birthmark in the shape of a flower
it's why my mother named me florence
i would have done anything for you,
even die for you
i know things got rocky between us, but
i want you to remember me always
even when i am six feet under.
