but now more than ever

i didn't think you were that hurt

i didn't think you would go out

and start drinking again

you promised me you would stop

after i found you drinking scotch in the backyard

while watching ants build an anthill

i didn't think you would hook up with your ex

you said she hurt you before

and that she would gladly hurt you again

i didn't think you would ignore me

for six weeks

over a picture that i tore

maybe that's the problem

i didn't think at all.
