"Maxie!!" Bret yelled grabbing me from behind and giving me a comforting hug.
"Bret.." I said softly hugging him back tightly.
"I missed you Max." Carson said.
"I missed you too.." I said.
I hugged Carson and started to tear.
"You can't hurt them..." I cried out.
"Maxine...They are intruders and mortals...and..and...humans." Ty spat.
"I don't care...they are my family." I said.
"Just don't do what you did to Jason to them.." I cried.
"How? How did you find out about that?" He asked.
I didn't say anything.
"Maxie?" Jayce asked.
"I'm sorry.." I said.
"What happened?" Jayce asked comfortably putting his hand on my shoulder.
Everyone got extremely quiet.
"I'm sorry." I said again.
"I disobeyed orders and I went into the basement." I said.
"I had a feeling..." Ty said quietly.
"I'm sorry." I said.
"What did you see Max?" Carson asked.
"I saw...Jason...he was all bloody and stuff." I answered.
"And you expect us to let them go, and you for that matter... now??" Rick asked.
"I don't know anymore. I just want you to just leave them alone." I said.
"Maxine...we aren't leaving without you." Carson said.
"I know.." I said sighing.
"Yeah I'm sure you do..." Bret said.
"Come on you don't actually want to stay here do you?" Bret asked.
"I don't know..." I said.
I walked over to Alyssa's bed and sat down with my head in my hands.
"They have been good to me Carson." I said.
"I know, you look happier than ever, but still..." Carson began.
"Still what?" I asked.
"Do you want to come home?" He asked.
"Not like you have a flipping choice." Bret added.
"He's right. Lets go little sister." Carson said now grabbing my arm.
"In a way... I care about Jayce." I said looking into Jayce's eyes.
"I am engaged to him." I said.
"What have they done to you??" Bret said angrily.
"I know but you could get engaged to someone back home in a couple years." Carson said.
"How do you know?" I asked.
"How do you know that I won't hate it there again?" I asked.
"You do have friends there.." Bret said.
"I know... and I do miss them dearly." I said.
"See you have a reason to come back." Carson said.
"You don't realize what you did. You put me through hell!" Bret yelled.
"I have been worried sick about you!" Bret added.
"I know I'm sorry...it wasn't really my fault though." I said.
"I am not going to just let you stay here and marry this vampire person and then get turned or whatever they do." Bret said.
"I will not." He said again.
"I know Bret.. I just can't leave and then never see him again." I said.
"Max!!" Bret yelled. "Do you realize that you were kidnapped??" He asked.
"Yeah.." I sighed.
"And you still want to stay here.. You saw what they did to that guy...come on think ablut it." Bret exclaimed.
"I know, I know.." I said.
"Come on we're leaving.." Carson said.
"Thank you. I am getting sick off this bull.." Bret said following him.
"No it's getting late lets just decide this tomorrow.." Jayce said pulling me back.
"Bret and Carson there is are rooms down the hall that Molly will show you..Maxine just get some rest." Jayce said.
Bret and Carson followed her and were led to their rooms.
"Lock the door." Ty ordered.
Molly locked the door and walked down the hall.
I laid on my bed and fell asleep.
The next morning
Ty unlocked Carson and Bret's door around 7:00.
"Make sure she doesn't wake up." Carson said leaning over me.
"Why don't we just tell her??" Bret asked.
"Because come on she won't come." Carson replied.
Carson picked me up and carried me over to the window.
"It's a big jump." Bret said looking down.
"Duh, dumb ass its a third story floor." Carson remarked.
Carson stepped out of the window like he did when he first came and hung on the side of the sill on the outside of the window.
"Your turn." Carson said.
"Are you flipping psycho??" Bret asked.
"Just hurry before they find her gone." Carson said.
Bret stepped out of the window and sat on the sill.
"So what now??" He asked.
"We jump." He said.
"No way..." Bret said hesitantly.
Carson handed me to Bret and climbed down.
"Throw her here." Carson said holding out his arms.
Bret threw me down and Carson caught me, barely.
"Now come on." Carson said.
Bret climbed down carefully and reached the ground.
