Chapter 12

McKenna's POV:

After last night's date I never felt closer to Edward. I felt so special to be the one he shared his deepest secrets with. It made me like him all the more, because I finally realized why he was the way he was. It all came down to love. Love such a powerful word, but an action that can change a life for better or worse. And after he shared that, it made me want to give him something sacred to me, my virginity. I know I had only known Edward for a couple weeks now, and half of that time I found him repulsive, but now it was different. I realized that it was my decision and I was finally ready. I know I wasn't 'in love' with him, but we did share a special connection.

I hopped out of bed went to the bathroom and took a long hot shower. I combed out the tangles in my hair and left it straight. I picked out a simple black and white stripped dress and wore some flats.

When I got to school I was greeted by Edward. He was finally ready to go public with our relationship, which finally made it feel real. "Hello girlfriend" He said kissing me on my forehead.

"I like that word coming from you" I said lacing our fingers together. We walked down the hall and I saw CeCe. I sent her a quick text last night to fill her in but I know she expected me to give her details today.

"Well if it isn't the golden couple coming my way" CeCe announced.

"Hey CeCe, are we having lunch today?" I asked.

"Umm actually, I'm having lunch with my boyfriend."

"Since when?" I asked her not knowing of this boyfriend.

"Since the party, but of course you wouldn't know since you haven't bothered to pick up the phone or send me a text" she said.

"I'm sorry, maybe after school?" I asked desperately wanting a girl friend to talk to.

"Sure" she said.

Edward walked me to class and kissed me goodbye. I went to take a seat next to Marcel but he quickly put his foot on my desk. "Sit somewhere else" he said not looking up from his book.

"You're still mad?" I asked.

"Yes"

I went and sat down in the back corner. I looked at Marcel hoping he would turn around and forgive me. I knew he needed his own time and space so I decided to leave it alone. Calculus seemed to be going by slower and slower every day. When the bell finally rang I headed down to my second class. This class was even more boring. I caught Ashley giving me glares every once in a while. I guess she wasn't over Edward? I actually forgot that they had a brief fling, but that started to bother me.

Once class got out Ashley made her way over to me.

"Bitch, I can't believe you stole Edward from me" she said harshly.

"I'm sorry, it just sort of happened. I didn't mean to" I said innocently.

"Oh sure, sweet innocent McKenna, yeah whatever. You know I'm done pretending to be nice to you. And you know Edward will drop you in a second once he finds out your still a virgin" she said glaring at me and walking away.

Was what she said true? No of course not, Edward wouldn't just leave me because I was inexperienced, right?

It was finally lunch and I met up with Edward. "McKenna are you alright?" Edward asked me.

"Umm, it stupid. It's just something Ashley said to me."

"You know you can tell me right?" He said looking at me.

I began to unwrap my sandwich to stall. "Well..." I decided to just say it. "I'm a virgin" I blurted, quickly covering my mouth.

He didn't flinch. "That's what Ashley told you?" He asked sounding confused.
