Chapter 23: New Places, New Faces

"They join today!" Cassie reminded Lily. Lily gave Cassie a confused look.
"The new SF member, remember?!" Cassie said. "He's only giving it a tester, if he enjoys, he stays," Lily nodded.
"Speak of the devil," Cassie said, gesturing towards the back of a young male. The boy turned around, and Lily vaguely recognised him.
"Lily?" The boy asked. That voice struck her. Max. Max Titan.
"Max!" Lily said, running up to Max and hugging him. Cassie began to laugh.
"Damn, you know everyone around here before me!" Cassie said to Lily. "Cassie Cage," Cassie held one hand out in front of her. Max shook it. Cassie smiled.
"I'm sure that you'll want to meet everyone!" Lily said, leading Max through the crowd. She felt dominant, which was cool, but Lily didn't want Max to feel pressured. Lily saw Jin and Robyn, holding hands? They couldn't be. Jin was really scared of telling everyone. Guess he got ever it.
"They are Robyn and Jin, over there," Lily said, gesturing towards the two. Lily also spotted Takeda and Jacqui.
"That's Takeda, my ex," Lily said.
"I remember him, from Shiri Ryu, we were close. Why did you break up?" Max asked.
"He cheated on me, with that girl there, Jacqui," Lily said, pointing at Jacqui. Jacqui spotted them and whispered something to Takeda. Takeda waved at the Lily and Max, but both ignored him.
"That's a horrible thing to do, I'd never cheat on someone as great as you!" Max said, trying to cheer up Lily.
"Thanks! That's nice to know," Lily said, laughing and walking off with Max.

"Right, we need to test your skill Max, show us a skill," Johnny said, with his arm around Sonya. Lily watched Cassie smile as the two cuddled closer. Max walked up to a dummy, whilst Robyn, Cassie, Jin, Lily, Takeda and Jacqui watched. Max got out a katana. He brandished it, similiar to Kenshi and Scorpion mixed together. Max sliced off the dummy's head, and threw a sword to pin against the wall, right next to Takeda. Takeda looked scared, worried that Max had tried to hit him.
"Great aim Max! You'll be putting Lily to the test!" Johnny said. Takeda's envy grew as he watched Max and Lily glance at each other and smile. Max winked, Takeda got more and more jealous.
"Session over!" Johnny shouted. Lily started walking out of the door, when she heard a voice.
"Lily, can I just ask you something?" Takeda shouted, everybody stopped rushing out of the door, and stood still and silent.
"Alone," Takeda added, and everyone carried on walking. These days, even Sonya and Johnny knew that something was wrong between the two. Once everybody left, Takeda began to talk.
"Are you ever going to forgive me?" Takeda asked. Lily avoided eye contact.
"The chances are that I won't," Lily replied, watching Takeda's face drop.
"Also, do you, erm, like Max?" Takeda asked.
"Why should it matter to you? And yeah, I do," Lily said, strutting out of the room. Dramatic exit. Just the way Lily had intended.
