❝She looks like a hoe. Look at how she's dressed.❞
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
WHEN YOU TELL a girl that she shouldn't wear an outfit like that what do you think it means?
You're helping her right?
You're slut shaming her right?
You're sexualizing her body right?
Is that what happens to women in which were raped? Do you think to yourself, "Well maybe she wouldn't have been if she weren't wearing that outfit?"
Do you?
Do you think that somewhere deep in your mind depending on the story of the rape you heard about? Depending on the so called circumstances?
⠀She gets told that what she chooses to wear on her body is too provocative. Too welcoming.
She gets told that she needs to stop trying to reel boys in.
She gets told that she looks like a hooker.
She gets told that she shouldn't wear things like that in public.
Cover your legs.
Cover your breasts.
Cover your stomach.
She's suppose to be a role model. She's suppose to use her brain. She's suppose to use her pride. She's suppose use her self respect. She's not suppose to love her body. She's not suppose to be unapologetically unashamed of her body. She's not suppose to be comfortable in her body.
All apparently because what she chooses to wear on her body affects someone's life. Affects someone's education. Affects someone's relationship. Affects the probability of being raped.
Instead, she's suppose to be an example for every girl and woman in the world. She's suppose to not have any say. To continue to live in a world where you're shamed constantly because of what you wear and how what you wear looks on your body. To continue to receive filthy glances from older and more conservative women.
She takes all of the stabs behind her back as she carries about through her day. She acts like it doesn't phase her. She feigns her confidence and continues on.
When she gets home she cowers down from all of the taunts. She sobs through smudged mascara and red tainted lips. She throws all of her clothes from her closet and stomps on them.
Cover your legs.
Cover your breasts.
Cover your stomach.
She yells into the echo of her room as to why she's treated like a piece of used trash.
It's because she is what they make her out to be right?
A hoe?
A whore?
A slut?
A hooker?
A future home wrecker?
A negative idol for younger girls?
That's what it all translates to right? Love your body but don't if you show it off because then you're disgusting? Who knew though. Who knew that a woman is naked under her clothes? Wow. Shocking. Surprising.
She was taught that dressing in an un lady like manor can get you into trouble. She was taught not to hangout with girls whom dressed provocatively. She was taught that sexualizing a girl or a woman's body is most definitely okay.
Because you're helping her, right?
