The girl thunders towards me. Her eyes are raging and her expression is not too happy. At first she seems big enough to crush me in her hands but when she places her hand on my shoulder, I realize how tiny she is.
She struggles to pull me up and lead me into the white room. But I don't t want to be led. I don't even want to be here. Suddenly I feel a boiling hot rage fill my body. It slides through me until I am shaking with anger. I stand up and shake my limbs.
I try to contain it. I try to stop it before anyone gets hurt. My wings stiffen. My anger builds up. There's nothing I can do about it.
I scream and my hands tremble. I feel like I have all the power in the world. This rage... This anger. I can't control it.
The rage gets stronger and I see the white drifting away. And as it goes I can see more clearly. I can see the walls, the ceiling, chairs, trolleys... And people.
My eyes rest on them and I can sense their fear. I see a small child crying in his mother's arms. They all look terrified.
I feel my wings droop. The rage is drained out. I feel lifeless again. I look at the people and step forwards. They scream and bury their heads in their hands. My mouth drops open.
Did I really cause that much fear in these people? I'm a monster... If I didn't go for that stupid walk... Mum and dad are probably worriedout of their skins... Mum and Dad... I collapse to the floor.
I cry. That's all I can do right now. I hear whispering from the people. I catch a bit of their conversations every now and then.
"She's crying?"
"She's a monster!"
"But she's undetermined... Maybe she's a Vaxee."
"She is here to kill us all!"
"Mummy... She's sad."
I look up. It's that small child. He looks at me and waves. I smile and wave back. The crowd gasps. I hear the boy's mother scolding him.
"Timmy! Why did you do that! She is not friendly!"
The white starts to close in again. I study the people. When the white is about to surround them I notice something strange. None of them have wings. Not even the fluffy grey ones. They have no nurse or doctor uniforms... They don't belong here! They are humans!
I search the room for the door before the white closes in. I see it and run towards it. Yelling as I go, "YOU MONSTERS! LET THEM GO! LET ME OUT!" I bang on the door. Its locked.
The rage is about to bubble up again. I can contain it though... I know I can... I feel a poke on my right arm. Then a searing pain. A needle stabs me and injects some blue liquid into me. I feel sleepy. My eyes close.
As I fall to the floor, I realize the blue is the same color as Jem's wings. I fall asleep smiling like an idiot.
