Chapter 32

3 days later

Hayes is coming home today and I'm still really upset with him. I feel like he always does something wrong and I'm always the good one.

I was laying on my bed when I heard a knock on my door. I opened the door and Hayes was standing there. I ran into his arms.

We hugged really tight and in that moment I forgot about everything until he let go. He looked at my face.

"What's wrong?", he asked

"I don't know?, you tell me".

"Huh?".

"Why did you do it?".

"Do what?".

"Why did you kiss her and hug her?".

"Who?".

"Tess".

"Woah who said I kissed Tess?".

"Why are you trying to cover it up, the least you could do is tell the truth".

"Where did you hear this fake rumor?".

I showed him the article and he looked at it closely.

"That's so fake he said".

"Prove it".

He grabbed his phone and showed me his texts from his management company.

Manager- there is a fake article about you and Tess, please deny all claims.

Hayes- what is it about?

Manager- that you guys are a couple and we are trying to get the article removed ASAP but please bare with us.

Hayes- good to know and thank you for informing me.

We both looked up at each other and we were silent.

"Oh, I said.

"Did you think that I cheated on you?".

I stayed silent and I started looking around the room.

"Did you? he said.

"Kinda".

"Wow"

"It's not like you haven't done it before".

"Bella I promised you that I wouldn't ever do it again and I thought you trusted me".

"I do".

"No you don't, you thought I cheated on you with some girl I just met".

"You always blame me for the things you do".

"No I don't and you need to get over the past because the past is in the past".

"I'm more worried about my future, our future".

"We can't move forward if we don't let go".

"What if I can't?".

"Then we have no future".

I took a deep breath and I sat down on the floor and he did too.

"Brandon and I kissed, I said".

He blinked three times and looked up at me.

"I've worked so hard to be with you and that's what I get?".

"It didn't mean anything and I regret it".

"Kissing him is the worst thing you could have possibly done".

"I know, I was just upset and I wasn't thinking".

"But I was thinking, I was thinking about telling everyone about me and you but you clearly aren't ready".

I started to tear up and I couldn't even look at him anymore.

"Hayes I.....".

Just when I was about to say something Cameron barged into the room.

"The pizzas here, Cameron said.

He walked out and I looked around again.

"Look at us, we're a mess, I said.

"I don't know what to do, I've risked so much to be with you".

"Me too and I don't want to see us end".

"Is it too late?".

"I don't know?".

"Maybe we aren't meant to be".

"Hayes I.....".

Cameron started yelling our names.

"We should probably go he said.

We walked down and ate our pizza really slowly and when we finished we went back up to my room.

We sat on the edge of my bed and we sat there in silence until I felt him move closer to me. Our hands were inches apart and we didn't move.

"I can't do this, he said".

I let out a big sigh

"I understand".

I got up and started roaming around the room".

"I mean I can't let you go".

"Oh".

"We have chemistry and I care about you".

"Me too".

"We might have little issues but we can work things out".

"Ok".

After this he left and I have a feeling that things won't be the same.
