The Lies That Lie Behind The Light [Never To Be Touched Again]

Chapter 4: Entering the Digiverse

I opened my eyes to see I was surrounded by shadows. But it felt the same as it was when I had that weird dream. I moved around and found out that it was like swimming, except in shadows. I saw Paparu and Jakki looking around as well. All of a  sudden we were speeding towards what seemed to an exit. We landed on the ground and got up, brushing ourselves off. We looked around and saw it was completely different than the rumors about the place. We stood on a giant dark blue square which was in the middle of where the white and black met. On my left there was the shadow realm and on my right was the light realm. I walked in the square and realised that the floor was similar to tile- actually no, it was tile. I looked over at Paparu and Jakki to see that they had also discovered that we could go outside the square. All of a sudden a boy appeared from the light realm and a girl appeared from the shadow realm. "Come with us, you will be protected and we will prevail!" The boy said, outstretching his hand. "Please do not listen to him! Do not fall for his lies!" The girl said. I realised that it was the girl that talked to me in the dream. "Come.... we would never lie to you...." "Please! You can save yourself by choosing to come with us!" I could feel myself walking towards the boy, and it took all my willpower to stop myself. I stopped and turned around to look at the girl. I saw Jakki and Paparu gravitating to the boy but I stopped them before they could. "Suraida? Suraida do you hear me?" I looked at both of my options. 'Which one should I choose?' I thought. I knew it was up to me, and I made the final decision.

I grabbed Jakki and Paparu's wrists and ran out of the square to.... the shadow realm. I reached out and grabbed the girl's hand. I looked back and saw the boy was scowling before disintegrating into white particles. Then the whole entire light realm was gone and we were left with the shadow realm. I looked back at the girl and she was beaming. I stepped back, Jakki and Paparu by my sides. The girl seemed to frown at this but quickly plastered a small smile and said, "I'm so glad that you chose the shadow realm." Then she looked over at me and said, "I was sure you were going to pick the light realm but I'm glad you didn't. Besides, I think you know someone from our realm." Jakki and Paparu looked at me, their eyes and facial expressions told me that they wanted to know what was going on. I looked at them with look that said, "I'll explain later." Before I could reply back she took our earpieces and crushed them. "Sorry, but we want to keep what we have in the shadow realm secret and only for those who have permission. Oh, and I completely forgot about introductions! My names Towairaito. And I already know your names so don't worry about introducing yourselves." She motioned us to follow her and after a few steps we started sinking into the shadows. We started to panic while Towairaito just looked at us. "W-what's going on?!" Paparu said, stumbling. "This is how we go to the actual shadow realm. It may be a bit weird at first but you'll get used to it." Towairaito said before we all fully sunk into the shadows.
