Chapter 8: Yugure, The Great Seer of the Shadow Realm

I could hear Towairaito muttering something inaudible but loud enough to know she was clearly angry. Once she was done wrapping Matt up she stepped away, put her hands on her hip, and puffed her cheeks up, pouting. Matt once again rolled his eyes and went over to us. "Sorry about what happened. The Hikaris always have bad timing. Anyway, I'm going to give you guys a tour of the place. We also need to train you guys so you can get used to all the ambushes we have. They're getting more and more frequent. We also need to go to Yugure to find out what weapons would best suit you guys." "Hold up, hold up." Inez said, cutting Matt off from saying anything else. "Just how long are we going to stay here? Also, would you please tell us about all the stuff you've been saying about a 'reader' and talking to someone else besides us?" "Well, for your first question you're going to have to stay here until the book ends when it ends on you guys going ho-" Before Matt could finish his sentence a giant fan hit him on the back of his head. "Gosh Matt, spoiler alert! Also, nice job breaking the fourth wall again!" Tina said, pouting and a weird red thing appearing right on her head. "So wait, you get the rights to hit me on the head for breaking the fourth wall? I've already broken it like, 2 times! Also, we're breaking the fourth wall right now!"

"You know what, let's just drop this and go back to the story." And with that sentence Tina jumped into a portal and disappeared. "Aaannnyywaayyy, after that let's go to Yugure." Matt took my hand and intertwined our fingers, pulling me over to the center of the shadow realm where the statue of Artemis stood. "Mlaer wodahs eht fo rees taerg eht eruguY, su ot raeppa!" A white light just like when Towairaito said that word to make Matt appear flashed and blinded me temporarily. As I opened my eyes I realized everything was barren. No Kages, no buildings, nothing except a tent where the statue of Artemis stood. I looked behind me to see Inez and Jackie looking around as well. Matt tugged on my arm and I followed him into the tent. Inside was a girl who looked about 15 sitting in the middle of the tent, meditating. She opened one eye as we entered into the tent and stopped her meditating. She and Matt bowed to each other, while I awkwardly stood over beside Inez and Jackie. I took the chance to look at her

Her hair was tied into a low ponytail that went down to the middle of her back. She wore a sweater that seemed to be merchandise for a kind of band (it had a seven on the back of it in fancy stuff) as well as jeans and black converse. "It's nice to see you brought some of your friends along." She said in a soft voice, turning her attention towards us. "Yeah, this is Slider, my boyfriend and Inez and Jackie, my friends. Guys, this is Yugure, the great seer of the shadow realm. She can tell you what weapon suits you and if something bad might happen to you on a certain day at a certain time at a certain place." Matt said, introducing everyone and telling us what Yugure could do. "So, what do you think? What weapons?" "Mmmmmhhhh...." Yugure hummed, thinking about it. "I think I know. Slider's weapon will be very similar to yours Matt, a katana. Just like you he is suited to be a short-distance fighter. Though it will have to be more centered around magic. Inez will need a bow and arrow. She will best fit as a long-distance fighter and will need to practice magic a lot. Jackie is very flexible, both mentally and physically. Her weapon is a bit off the rails but I think it will be knives connected by a long chain, like a nunchuck except with knives."

Since she was talking in a soft and small voice I had to strain my ears to hear her. So, I was going to have a katana, Inez was going to have a bow and arrow, and Jackie was going to have something similar to nunchucks except with knives. It was a bit weird how she could tell what weapons would fit us the best. "Well then, looks like we're going to have to go to Zanko now. And train as well. Anyway, thanks for putting up with me." Matt said, smirking in a cheerful way. Yugure rolled her eyes and gave him a light punch in the arm. "Dobe." "Teme." "#narutoreference!" They high-fived at what seemed to be their own inside joke. Matt motioned for us to go outside and we followed him. "Elpoep sa llew sa tcetorp ot emoh ym, mlaer wodahs eht ot su ekat!" We appeared back next to the Artemis statue, and looking around it seems as though everyone had retreated back to their houses. The moon was nowhere in sight, but the stars twinkled in the night. That reminds me.... "Hey Matt?" Matt turned towards me. "Where are we going to sleep?" Matt paused and then looked up at the sky. "We're going to sleep under the stars. There aren't any vacant homes and I think it would be best if you slept underneath the stars tonight." Matt said, grinning towards. I let out a little sigh but nodded my head anyway. We followed him to the place where we found him and laid in a circle. I felt myself drift off as Matt softly held my hand...
