As I walked through the forest - alone - I started to notice that my stomach was making weird, unidentified, noises. I stopped and sat down for a bit to try to figure out what these noises were.
I started to also notice that I had a craving... A craving for food.
I had never felt this before. Well... Once. When I was abandoned on the island for a few months, I felt this craving everyday. And I remember, when the ship rescued me, the captain said, "Oh, puppy, you must be so hungry."
I believe hunger is this feeling that I am feeling now.
Luckily, I remembered the antidote that the captain gave me. It was a weird antidote though. It was food. So, knowing this, I quickly set out to find some wild berries or fruit.I walked for what seemed like hours, but couldn't find anything.
As I sat on the dirty ground - hungry - I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I saw a bee's nest. I looked around me, hoping there was nothing else trying to steel the honey like I was going to.
When I didn't see anything, or anybody, I slowly crouched towards the nest.
Luckily for me, the nest was quite low to the ground, to the point where I was able to see the top of it.I found a large sharp stick and I picked it up in my mouth. I through the stick at the nest, cracking it right in half!
Yet, I forgot one thing... One very important thing, which is if there's a bee's nest, there's bound to be bees in it.Right as the nest cracked in half, a storm of bees flew out of it! And to my luck, they didn't even notice me, since I was standing a good distance away from the nest when I threw the stick!
The bees just flew out of the nest, then flew away into the distance, leaving the nest full of honey unoccupied.
I slowly walked up to the nest, making sure there weren't any more bees in it. The coast was clear. I reached my snout inside of the nest and started to eat all the honey. In a matter of just minutes, the nest was sparkling clean, from me eating every single little bit of honey that was in it.After I ate, I laid down on the ground as the night fell over me. I thought about many different things, but I mostly thought about Limber and Rambi... I missed them. I missed Limber's laugh and I missed Rambi's stories that she would tell to us every night. I missed Limber's sense of humor - she would laugh at every joke I told her. I missed them both so much... Was it a mistake to leave? Was it a mistake to leave my friends?... My only friends.
I tried not to think about it too much. I knew what I did was right. I had to leave. I needed to find a home.
Nonetheless, I missed them...
