"There you are! Cali is here!" Casey grabbed my hand, pulling me through the crowd. My head was too busy trying to understand my world I walked in. Music vibrated the floor, but I couldn't hear it. The world was just moving slowly. All went back when arms pulled me into a hug.
"Anastasia!" Cali squeaked in my ear. I hugged her back, taking in a deep breath to calm down.
"Happy birthday!" Jessie joined in and lifted us off the ground in a huge bear hug. "Can't breathe!" Cali chocked. I laughed with Jessie as he let us go on the floor. One of the hired waitress come in and whispered in Jessie's ear. Then he turned to us and said it was time to meet and eat. He placed arm over my shoulder and we walked to the decorated dining room. The table was long and was opened so it was longer for guest then we added tabled as well as the whole house. That way guest and partiers can all have a place to sit and eat. This room was specifically made for family and close friends.
"Attention," Jessie called hitting his glass, "Dinner will start in about five minutes. Please, make yourselves comfy and I would like you to welcome my birthday girl." He raised his glass as Cali stood up and greeted the table. "Then my other daughter for making this day happen. Thank you all for coming here tonight." Jessie raised his glass to the male on the other side of the table. The man then bowed back. Casey stood proudly with her husband, "We love you all. Happy birthday Cali. Cheers." She roused, and everyone cheered taking their sip. Jessie than ordered to sit and soon after the hired waitresses come with treys of food. Never knew Jessie was so rich, he never really speak about it. He wasn't the type to throw it in your face, he was modest.
"En-"
Door slammed with two boys walking in. Aiden and Corey both walked up and apologized. "We are sorry we are late. Dearly sorry to interrupt." Corey sat next to the male Jessie waved to, while Aiden grabbed my hand and kissed it, asking to sit by me. Nodding, he quickly sits while getting his trey. Ignoring the eyes, I glared at Jessie with a, are-you-serious look. I have always seen this party in movies where there was three forks, two spoons, four napkins, one sharp knife, one wine, one water, etc.; but I never would have thought I would be in it.
"E-enjoy." Jessie cut of the silence, and everyone dig in. Most of them was the regular fancy chicken and fish. I wasn't really into it, but for Cali's birthday, she wanted fancy so I would do it for her. Jessie smirked, pointing to my trey that was still closed. "Special occasion." He whispered, encouraging me to open it.
Oh great. Probably one of his jokes?
It's spaghetti, my favorite. I knew pasta is never really allowed, due to the fact that it's messy.
"You're the best!" I laughed, digging in. I slurped the end leaving sauce on my nose. Cali choked on her wine from laughing. That's when I realize that all eyes were on us. Embarrassed, I ignore the best I could, trying not to make any more scenes. Aiden talked to me like we were at school. It was nice conversation. Made me relies that I was overthinking it. We were friends, and this was just one thing I enjoyed about him, he always makes you feel conferrable.
Door opened again, but this time was a servant. As she whispered between Jessie and Casey she threw her hands up in annoyance trying to tell them news.
Cali turns to them, "What's wrong?" Jessie just shakes his head. "Nothing serious. Darling are you sure that you don't want me to handle it?" Casey waved it off, "No you must stay. Ann!"
"Yes?"
"Come with me?" she ordered. I know when mothers ask and when they actually order you to do something.
"Ok."
Out in the hall, she walked quickly toward the party room. "What is it Ma?"
She snapped in place, "Drunks and fights! I need someone to put them in their place. They broke my damn disco ball!!" she yelled, but I couldn't help but smirk. Casey opened the doors that held all the sound. The fights went into a large circle of crowds of people. They were yelling and taunting.
"Could you?" She points annoyed. Mostly, she would lead me away from fights or bad people. Now, I get to stop them! Excitement filled my body as I walked through the crowd to the middle.
Oh this will be fun.
One of my friends was getting punched in the face. I believe it was, Chris. Chris was a flute player and was gay, but man was he fun. Now I see this funny sweet guy on the ground as the same guy stands over about to beat him again. Without a thought, I push him off. First, the red head was shocked, but then he got angry.
"You ok?" helped Chris up and he whipped his bleeding nose. "Yea...I think so."
"What happened?" I snapped at the crowd. "I don't even know, he came from fuckin nowhere!" Chris glared at red. "What is your problem? What has Chris done to you?"
Red laughed, "Bitch, I don't need a reason to swish a fucking queer!" some of red's friends laughed too and gave each other high-fives, and bro hugs. It all made me furious. I couldn't think anymore, I saw red.
Just walked up to his face, "You Bastard! Meet me outside and I will show you what it really means to be a little queer." Pushed him off and screamed, "EVERYONE OUTSIDE!"
Then I turn to my prey one last time.
"What's happening?" Casey panicked, "Putting them in their place." I respond, walking past and to the yard.
