It is the height of the ongoing battle between the REBEL ALLIANCE and the GALACTIC EMPIRE. Luke Skywalker has emerged from desert wasteland Tatooine to pursue his talent and intuitiveness with the Force, the only piece of his father's identity that Luke has left. Luke, along with smart-mouthed pilot and smuggler Han Solo, have saved Rebel leader Princess Leia from the clutches of the Empire and returned her to safety at the Rebel base on Yavin 4.

The Rebels have attained the top-secret plans to the Empire's newest venture, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with the power to destroy entire planets. The Rebellion's in-depth analyzation of the Death Star plans have uncovered a flaw in the system; a vent leading straight to the main reactor which can blow up the space station with a single precise blast.

Princess Leia along with her fellow members of the Rebel Alliance, watch anxiously from their base as squadrons of rebel pilots have been sent out into the war zone surrounding the Death Star, hoping to reach the system's weakness and restore order to the galaxy once and for all...
