Who wants to go home?

In answer to the title of this rant ... no one that I know of.

Have you seen the new home page? I honestly didn't believe they could make it more useless yet they somehow managed to do exactly that.

The home page is a redundant, slush-pile of book recommendations (and if you look at it, Whatpad even decided recommending your own books to you was an excellent plan.) It's a mess of crap no one wants to scroll through. If you're a reader, maybe you might attempt it. Honestly, I find it to be a mess that I don't want to wade through.

Another thing, the continuous load of the "book feed" is a hassle. It makes their menu bar, which contains the help button, useless. Unless of course you're a quick draw with your mouse and can click it before the feed loads more stuff and pushes it down out of sight.

I never use the home page, going home is not an option on Whatpad any longer. They should simply delete the page and start over. It's become useless to most users that I've spoken to and most don't even visit the page now.

Which begs the question: wouldn't they notice a drop in page visits?

You think they would and a light bulb would go off, somewhere above someone's head.

However, despite complaints from users about a lot of things around here, they don't seem to get it

However, despite complaints from users about a lot of things around here, they don't seem to get it. And no one listens, I don't care what they keep trying to tell people.

Instead of getting at least a few of the things we really want, they keep loading the site with crap we don't want or need. And the site keeps becoming more and more difficult to use. Especially for writers. They seem to want the experience to be great for readers, yet without the writers the site cannot exist.

Why can't they understand that writers are just as important as the readers?

We can hope and pray they'll get a clue, but I wouldn't encourage any one to hold their breath while waiting.
