VII
"ALL THRUTH OUT"

Katherine

Isabelle, Alec and I made it safely to the Institute while Jace decided to stay with Clary. Making my way to my room there was a ruffling sound coming from the other side of the door. Since Clary appeared there have been a lot of unexpected things going on so I decided to be prepared in case it was something to defend myself from.

I took the aegis dagger that is always hidden on my waist and slowly and carefully opened the door but sighed in relief when seeing Maryse sitting on the bed "Mother, it's you" I walked closer to the woman who took me under her wing when I needed it the most.

"Hello to you too, Katherine" She chuckled and we hugged "How's been everything at Idris? Where are Robert and Max?" I asked for the other members of the family "They should be arriving in no time... but about Idris, I would like to talk to you about that" She started.

My once calmed expression changed to one that evoked confusion "What's wrong mother?" I asked concern "It's about the Clave. Because of all the unauthorised missions you have all taken action in, the Clave thinks the Lightwoods are not as leader worthy as before" She explained.

I knew that all this things that Clary got us into were going to come back and bite us in the ass "Well, um, is there anything I can do to help restore the honour of your name?" I asked. We got ourselves into this by helping Clary, it was us who needed to get us out of this mess.

Maryse sighed and held my hand "I wouldn't like for you to give up everything just to restore some honour to our name, Katherine" She smiled sympathetically "No but I want to, Maryse. Tell me... what can I do to help? I'll do anything, you just tell me what to do" I said sincerely.

Bringing back the honour to the Lightwood name is the least I can do after all they've done for me... and for Jacob "If you insist. Robert and I would need you to go to Idris for an indefinite amount of time" She paused seeing if my expression changed at the proposal but it didn't.

"There you will need to run a few things in the Institute, lead some missions and train some of the best kids there" She finished "It'll be my pleasure to do so, especially for the family. When will I be requested to depart?" I asked.

I have no problem with going to Idris but at least I would like to have some time here to spend with everyone and say goodbye. By Maryse saying indefinite time I knew that once I stepped foot on Idris, there was no coming back.

"One week" She looked at me sternly "What?" My features tensed. I can't leave in one week but, what happens if I don't go? What will the Clave think of the Lightwoods?

I was in the training room hitting the punching stand to lift all of my frustrations. Sweat drops rolled down my forehead and chest too, while with much force my hands, clenched as fists, collapsed against the black leather.

How am I supposed to tell everyone that I'll leave to Idris in a week? All the previous conversations I have had with everyone just kept racing each other to get my attention.

Please understand Katy, none of you know what it's like to lose your mother
