"FORGOTTEN MEMBERS"

Katherine

Aldertree stood in sight, Lydia beside him. Everyone's eyes were glued on me, most shocked to see me while the rest paid entire attention to my every move. Low murmurs echoed around the Institute, Shadowhunters commenting on my reappearance.

No stare felt judgemental, they were almost interrogating. The environment immediately changed though. It was almost as if someone lifted up a black veil covering the Institute, lifting the gloom it brought. They all stared as I walked to the middle of the room and stood in front of Victor.

Clary stood behind us, wanting to interfere but knowing she couldn't. I pushed Jocelyn forward, her struggling against my grip "Jocelyn Fairchild was found at the site where Jace was located. She appeared at the site and attack, allowing Valentine and Jace to escape" I explained.

"Are you sure about that? You didn't look so-" Jocelyn hissed in pain after I tightened my grip around her arm "Do you really feel like talking, Fairchild?" I whispered in her ear "Her reckless behaviour and clouded judgment due to her connection to both individuals was catastrophic for this mission and lead it to failure" Aldertree simply nodded in response.

He knew how I felt towards Jocelyn and it irritated me how he looked almost as if finding entertainment on this "With a charge of tampering with a private mission, I'm bringing Jocelyn before you so that she can be punished for her actions" I said.

Once again Aldertree nodded "Take her to my office, I will deal with her there. Your service in this mission is admired and appreciated. The Clave will be more than happy to hear about your undeniable and loyal compliance, Katherine" He half smiled.

Right, the Clave. I'm sure they are more than thrilled to know that I'm their puppet. I turned around and started heading for Aldertree's office, dragging Jocelyn with me and Clary following behind. We only got as far as the corridors before Clary started talking, telling me to let her speak to her mother.

Jocelyn was telling to let go of her as well which only made me hold her tighter, probably creating a faint bruise around her limb "Whoever you are, let go of me!" Jocelyn said. I turned to face her and pushed her against the wall, placing my arm against her neck "Will you shut up already" I hissed.

"Seriously, just shut up. I'm tired of hearing your voice. You sound exactly like her and it's too painful to remember her. So shut up already" I said pushing my arm forward, slightly cutting her air supply "No, no, no! Let go of her!" Clary ran towards us, trying to get me off of Jocelyn.

She pulled on me but failed to take separate me from the woman who abandoned me and left me to think that I was an orphan. I could see the fear in Jocelyn's eyes, feel it. She wanted to know who I was but couldn't. Of course not, why would you remember someone you left more than ten years ago.

"Katherine let go of her, please!" Clarissa begged. I looked at her to see the small tears forming in her eyes, shinning as the light reflected on them "Katherine please" She whispered. I looked back at Jocelyn and let got of her. She gasped for air and held her neck "Katherine..." She whispered looking up.

Something clicked inside Jocelyn's mind and she instantly took a step forward "Katherine.. is that truly you?" Her voice cracked as she lifted her hand up and placed it on my cheek "By the Angel, it's really you" She went to hug me bit I pushed her away.
