Katy nearly dropped the book she was holding when she heard a terrifying scream echo through the bookstore. "What on earth?" she said to herself. As she stepped out of the aisle, she could see a small crowd forming around a young girl who lay motionless on the floor. She recognized her as the young cashier who welcomed them to the store. Bethany ran up behind her. "What's going on? Oh my God is she ok?" Katy didn't know how to answer. She assumed the girl passed out. A older man who was leaned over the girl pulled out his cell phone. Just as he began to dial 911, Katy saw a young boy about Adam's age stand behind the man. He gently placed his hand on his back and whispered something. Katy couldn't believe her eyes. The young man shot a bolt of lighting from his hand straight into the man's back. He bowed over. Then the chaos happened. The crowd of people standing around the girl all shot up at once and began to run all different directions. Most of them headed for the exit but a tall girl with auburn hair blocked the exit. She wore leather lace up boots with black skinny jeans and a white crop top. She smiled devilishly at the crowd. "Why is everyone leaving? Don't you want to stay and play?" She extended both hands and electricity escaped them hitting several people. A middle age woman ran in the opposite direction but she stopped short. It was like she trying everything in her power to move but she couldn't. The girl walked up behind her. She held up her hand and the woman screamed out in pain. "I hate it when people run away from me." She shot out another bolt of lighting killing the woman dead. Katy grabbed Beth's hand and ducked back in between the aisle. Beth was shaking. "Who is that?" She asked. "Is she Luxen?" Katy shook her head. "No. Worse. She's Origin and so is the boy. We can't fight them. We have to get out of here." More screams erupted from the front of the building. Katy had to find away to get out of here. She began to think. All buildings have an emergency exit for fires. She just had to find that exit. She grabbed Beth's hand once more. "Come on. Let's go." Bethany didn't protest. They got up and ran toward the back but stopped short. The young boy stood in front of them smiling. His purple eyes were unmistakable. He was definitely origin. "You ladies are very pretty. I think I'll kill you slowly." He extended his hand. Katy closed her eyes. She couldn't remember the last time she had tapped into the source. She extended her hands as well. She could feel the power swelling up inside her and she let out a bolt of electricity that recoiled her backward straight into Bethany. The two of them fell backward. When she looked up, the boy was still standing there with his smile still glued to his face. "Well now. Looks like we have a hybrid." Crap he must have dogged her attack. She tried to get up, but she stopped when she saw Beth's feet leave the floor. "Katy, help!" she yelled. The boy's hand was extended toward Bethany and she went higher and higher of the floor. He was choking her. The boy laughed and tightened his grip. Katy stood up. She lifted her hands, attempting to tap in to the source but the girl with the auburn hair stood behind her. The girl closed her fist and Katy felt her insides scream at her. She bowed over and opened her mouth in a silent scream. If she didn't get out of there, the girl was going to kill her. Katy thought of the only thing that could save her and Bethany. She mustered all the strength she had within her and screamed for him."DAEMON PLEASE HELP ME!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Daemon froze on the spot. That was Kat. He spun on heels and raced toward her voice. "Katy baby hold on! I'm coming!" he yelled. He weaved in and out of the aisles. Then he saw her. She was on the ground, her hands pressed against her stomach. She looked like she was in excruciating pain. A young girl stood behind her. He glanced up and he saw an even younger looking boy with his hand extended. Bethany was levitating and it looked like she was grasping for air. Daemon immediately shifted into his true from and went on the attack. He shot bolts of lightening at the girl and the boy. Katy relaxed and the pain alleviated. The girl grunted and fell against a book shelf. The boy dropped his hand and swore. Bethany hit the ground. Daemon shifted back into his human from and dropped to his knees next to Katy. "Kat. Are you ok?" Katy looked up and wrapped her arms around him. "I'm so glad to see you," she whispered. He held her close. "Beth," she said hoarse. Daemon looked back and ran over to Bethany's side. She was unconscious but she was breathing. Thank God. The young boy stood over them. "You stupid Luxen. You'll pay for that." Daemon shifted into his true form once again. He started to attack the boy but the boy held up his hands and Daemon flew back crashing through a bookshelf and into a wall. "Daemon!" Katy yelled. The girl closed her fist once again as she saw Katy get up. Katy hit the floor on her knees, the pain returning. This time small drops of blood escaped from her nose. Daemon struggled to get up. He felt a sharp pain run through his head. A blue liquid ran down from his temple. Crap he was bleeding. The boy stood before him frowning. "You really thought you could take me? You're weak and I'm going to kill you." Daemon was not about to go down without a fight. He sprang up and tackled the boy. They rolled across the floor bumping into tables and books. Daemon didn't know what his next move would be but he had to keep fighting. He rolled on top of the boy and grabbed his throat. Daemon banged the boy's head on the wooden floor as hard as he could. The boy grunted. Then something strange happened. The boy's purple eyes stated to glow and his hands were enveloped in a bright purple light. Daemon froze. The boy smirked. "Try this on for size." The boy shot a bolt of the purple light right into the center of Daemon's chest. He recoiled back and hit his head on the floor. He couldn't breathe and he felt like his entire body was on fire. He tired to move but every movement sent more shards a pain running through him. The boy kneeled beside him and laughed. "Know your place Luxen. You got nothing on us Origin," he said. The boy scrunched his fingers as if he were holding an imaginary ball and Daemon spat out a blue liquid. It was his blood. He could feel his heart slowing down. He tried so desperately to defend himself but he had no strength. He started to flicker in out between his true and human form. Oh God he was dying. The boy cocked his head to side like was amused at what he saw. The sick kid was enjoying watching him die. The boy scrunched his fingers some more. Daemon grabbed his chest. His heart. Was it still beating? He couldn't go out like this. Kat. Oh God. Kat. She needed him. And Adam. His little boy. He thought of his family. He couldn't leave them. Even as he thought about them he slowly began to pass out. "No. Not like this." he thought. His breathing had slowed. He wasn't sure if he was breathing at all. Just as he was about to lose consciousness, he saw the large bookshelf that held the bestsellers tipping over toward the boy. The boy spun around and held up his hands. The book shelf stopped in mid air but a blast of electricity hit the boy's knee caps, making his buckle. He fell and the heavy shelf fell right on top of him. Daemon felt strong arms pull him to safety. The person hoisted him up against the wall. "Daemon. Come on bro. Stay with me." It was Dawson. "Daemon look at me." Daemon was still in pain and his chest burned every time he took a breath. "Come on Daemon you're stronger than this," Dawson whispered. Dawson was right. Daemon mustered up enough strength to shift into his true form. He stayed in that form until he felt all his wounds start to heal. Dawson peered around the corner. I think were safe for now. Daemon shifted back into human form. "We have to get the girls and get the hell out of here." Dawson nodded. "Let's go get our girls." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Katy laid on the ground in a fetal position with her hands over her head. The pain was so intense she cried for it to stop. "Oh please. Stop," she said to the girl, her voice cracking. "Why are you doing this? What do you want from me?" The girl slowly walked up to her. She knelt beside her and began to gently rub her hand. "It hurts doesn't it? I'm sorry. I know you're in pain." Katy looked up confused. Was she taunting her or was she genuinely sorry? The girl gave an evil laugh and tightened her grip on Katy's hand. Katy gasped. "What I want is for this world to be rid of weaklings like you pathetic humans. Origin are the superior race and we deserve this planet. Oh and I want those stupid Luxen and creepy Arum erased too. They're just as week as humans." Katy couldn't believe her hears. What was she talking about? The girl stood up. "We're going to erase every human off the face of the earth. Starting with you." The girl raised her hand and Katy thought she was a goner. A bright light hit the girl in the back and she tumbled over. Katy's pain disappeared. The girl shot up and shot lighting out of her hands at the attacker. Katy let out a breath of relief as she saw Dee flawlessly dodge the girl's attack. Before the girl shot up her hand to stop Dee, Dee vanished and reappeared behind her. The girl was thrown off and spun around her purple eyes wild with anger. Dee's green eyes met her's and she held up a fist. "Leave my friends alone you crazy bitch!" Dee punched the girl square in the nose. She was dazed and fresh blood trickled out of her nostrils. Dee shifted into her true form and shot out a large blast of light aiming for the girl's head. The girl took the hit and fell to the floor. She didn't move. Katy doubt she was dead though. Dee, still in her true form picked up a still unconscious Beth. "Run Katy! Find Daemon and Dawson and get out of here! I'm heading for the emergency exit." Katy could hear Dee's voice in her head. She nodded and ran. She had to find Daemon. As she looked between the aisles she bumped into a hard figure. She screamed and started to flail her arms. "Kitten It's me! Katy baby calm down!" Katy relaxed as she saw Daemon standing before her. She held onto him determined not to let go. Daemon held her back, relieved she was alright. He pulled her back and kissed her. "Oh Kat. I'm so glad. I'm just so glad you're alright." Dawson broke their tender reunion. "Where's Beth? " he asked his voice filled with concern. "She's alright. Dee took her and they headed for the emergency exit." "That's were we need to go. Come on," Daemon said taking Katy's hand. They ran as fast as their powers would take them. They reached the emergency exit and stepped outside. Katy was so glad to get out of there. She spotted Dee holding Beth trying to get her to wake up. Dawson shoved through Katy and Daemon and ran toward Beth and Dee. He took Beth from Dee and gently began to rub her cheeks. "Come on guys. We're not out of danger yet." Daemon said. Dawson took Beth in his arms. They all ran toward the front of the store but stopped when they saw the parking lot. Every car in the lot was literally destroyed. It looked like a tornado tore through. They were't going anywhere, not without a car. They stood there trying decide on what to do. Daemon heard footsteps behind him. He had a bad feeling but he turned around. It was them. The girl and boy stood behind them and they look ticked. "I guess our brothers had some fun out here," the boy finally said. Brothers? There were more of them? Just great. Daemon thought. The girl smirked. "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Daria and this fireball here is Donavan." Donavan held up a middle finger. "What up?" he said as he popped his chin up. Oh wow. They hit the crazy of all crazies. Daemon thought. "Well Donavan. Thanks for knocking my wife unconscious. Now I have every reason to kill you," Dawson said his eyes narrowing. Donavan laughed. "Kill me? I'd like to see you try Luxen." Daemon walked up to them. "What do you want from us?" he asked. Daemon towered over both Daria and Donavan and he gave him a look of death. Any normal person would be shaking right now but Daria and Donavan stood with the hands on their hips, unmoved. Daria spoke up."I already told your wife what we wanted so she can relay that message." Daemon starred at them. Daria broke out into a laugh. She laughed for a good minute or so. "I don't see anything funny," Daemon finally said. "Oh you don't but I do," Daria said. "You stand there so big and tall hoping you're putting the fear of God into us. You just don't get it do you. You are so weak compared to us and you can't accept that." Daria stopped laughing. Now that we're formally introduced, I can kill you all. Daemon didn't wait for her to move. He immediately extended his hand and let a bolt of electricity leave his hand. Donavan whipped his hand across his face and deflected Daemon's attack. He frowned. "Not this time Luxen." "Run!" Daemon instructed. No one protested Daemon's call. They all ran. They knew it would be futile to face them. They ran as fast as they could about 3 miles north into a wooded area. Out of breath they stopped. "Do you think we lost them?" Dawson asked. Daemon put his hands on his knees. "I don't know but we should keep moving just in case..." Daria jumped out at them and grabbed Dee from behind. "Ahhhhh! Let me go!" Dee screamed. "Payback time princess," Daria whispered into Dee's ear. Donavan appeared from the shadows grinning from ear to ear. "Kill her sis!" Daemon rushed to defend Dee but Donavan held out his hand immobilizing him. He held up his other hand just as Dawson attempted to move. Katy couldn't move either realizing he had a hold on her too. "You guys can watch," Donavan said slowly. Dee tried to break free but Daria overpowered her. "I've been thinking about how I should kill you and I think I'll melt your brain. Yeah that suits you." Daria started to glow a dark violet color as she placed her hands on Dee's temples. Dee made no sound but she slowly lost balance and hit the ground. "No! Stop!" Daemon yelled. "Too late." Daria responded. Dee laid on the ground thrashing from side to side as a blue liquid drained from her hears. Daemon looked on in horror as his sister writhed in pain. He couldn't save her. He was not ready to watch his sister die. That was worse than death itself. Daemon tried to fight against Donavan's hold but to no avail. Katy eyes filled with tears. As she closed her eyes, she could hear Dawson whisper no over and over again under his breath. She couldn't help but to think Beth was lucky. She didn't have to witness this. Suddenly a bright light shot from the darkness. It hit Daria in the chest and she stumbled backward. Another light hit Donavan slamming him into a tree. Katy felt the hold on her dissipate. Daemon rushed to Dee's side and held her to his chest. "What was that?" Dawson asked still holding onto Beth. Daria stood up. Donavan stumbled as he stood. "What the hell?" he said. Katy heard footsteps approaching. Now what? She thought. A figure stepped out from the shadows and Katy's jaw dropped when she saw who it was. "You two made a deadly mistake," the figure said, his purple eyes flashing with anger. Adam stood before them, wearing the same tux he had on when he left the house hours before.
