Ashley was in complete awe of Luc's place. It was more spacious than she thought it be. She'd never been to Florida but she was already liking it. Especially the view of the ocean. Luc set the boundaries for everyone. "You guys can make yourself comfortable. After all I am inviting you to my home," he said to them as they entered through the front door. "I'll give you free range except two places: my room, of course, and the fifth room upstairs on the right." Ashley looked around to see if anyone else found that odd. The fifth room upstairs on the right? That's a little specific but no one seemed to bat an eye so she decided not to question it. She looked at Luc trying to peer inside his thoughts but all he was thinking about was his how he was going to split up their large group. Ashley and Kelsey ended up sharing a room. The two girls ascended the stairs and found their room. It was bare with two beds and one dresser. A walk in closet was in the back corner of the room and in the other corner was a door that led to their own personal bathroom. Kelsey giggled. "Man I wish I had my own bathroom. We all have to share back home. It's a real pain." Ashley started unpacking her backpack while Kelsey sat on the bed, her head buried in her phone. She looked a little unsettled. Ashley assumed her parents were just taking precautions and they'd all be back at their homes in a few weeks. Kelsey put her phone on the bed and wrapped her arms around herself. "You cold?" Ashley asked. "No I'm just a little nervous that's all. What do you think about all this? I mean do you think it's necessary?" Ashley sighed and laid back on her bed, her dark hair fanning out. "I dunno. Maybe. Honestly I think it will all blow over soon. Nothing to worry about." "But..." Kelsey stopped. "But what?" "I mean you should have seen the look on my mom's face when Luc explained what was going on. She looked terrified but at the same time she looked like she knew this was coming. Maybe it's a Luxen thing." Ashley turned on her side. "Maybe." Unlike her and Adam's parents, Kelsey's mom was Luxen and her dad was human. Or a hybrid or whatever you want to call it. Kelsey stood up and headed for the door. "I'm kinda hungry," she said. "Would you like anything?" "Nah I'm good. I'm just going to rest my head for while." "K." Kelsey left leaving Ashley alone. She sighed and rolled over once again. She soon grew tired of sitting around so she decided to wander around in hopes of clearing her head. Luc had the place decked out. He had a full bar, a large flat screen TV,  a fireplace, a swimming pool out in the back, and pretty much anything you could imagine. The place was spacious but with all three families living in the same space, the house quickly grew crowded. Ashley admired his house with a tinge of jealousy all the while trying to figure out how on earth he acquired such a place. It was massive. Her stomach growled. Maybe she should have taken Kelsey up on her offer. She walked into the kitchen and saw Kelsey sitting on the counter top, a glass of milk in her hands. Kevin leaned on the counter across from her. They were in deep conversation. Kelsey laughed and Kevin put his hand on her kneecap laughing back. Ashley was happy they had each other. Yeah they did argue a lot but deep down, Kelsey loved her brother and he loved her too. "Hey guys what's up?" Kevin and Kelsey both looked up at Ashley. "Hey. How you doing?" Kevin asked. "Ok. I guess. You?" Kevin shrugged. "I've had better days." "Yeah same," Ashley said opening the fridge. "They've been in there for a while," Kelsey said somewhat to herself. "Who's been where?" Ashley asked. "All of them," Kelsey responded. "I mean our parents and Luc. They've been talking for hours in the sitting room. I have no idea what about." "Probably about this Origin takeover crap," Kevin chimed in. "You guys wanna eavesdrop?" Kelsey asked. "Sure. Let's be careful not to get caught though," Kevin said standing up straight. The three of them walked near the sitting room and positioned themselves around the corner. "What are they saying?" Ashley asked. "Hmmm I'm not sure. I can't really hear all that well." Kevin said. "Move closer then. It's not rocket science Kev," Kelsey retorted. Kevin mocked his sister. "It's not rocket science, Kev. Why are you always so mean to me? Geez." "Quit whining and move closer," Kelsey responded. Kevin rolled his eyes but he moved closer around the corner. "So tell me what exactly happened that night," Luc asked Daemon. "I've already told you a million times." "You're leaving details out." Daemon shot up off the couch. "You calling me a liar?" Luc stood there unmoved. "Look. I need as much info as possible so I can figure out how much time we have." "How much time we have for what?" Dawson asked. "Before we need to move again." "We need to move again?" Katy asked. "Yeah duh. You guys didn't really think you'd be safe here forever did you? We have to keep moving and then get our plan in order." "So you have some sort of plan in place?" Mrs. Summers piped up. "Who are you again?" Luc asked. Mrs. Summers frowned. "My name is Sherrie Summers," she said. "Yeah that really clear things up," Luc said sarcastically. "You Luxen?" "Last time I checked," Mrs. Summers retorted. "Can somebody tell me what's going on here? I need answers," Mr. Summers said standing up from his chair. Luc shifted his weight and sighed. "All right. Every one needs to listen up. I will not repeat myself." Everyone fell silent and waited for Luc to speak. "I do have a plan but I'm going to need everyone's cooperation. These origin are not going to stop until everyone on this planet is dead. Human, Luxen, Arum, you name it. They plan to wipe us all out. And trust me, they can." "How reliable are your sources?" Daemon asked interrupting Luc. "I'm not finished. My sources are very reliable. Thank you very much. Now can I please continue?" Daemon sat back and folder his arms. "Continue," Daemon whispered. "Where was I? Oh yeah the origin takeover. Ok so they plan on creating an army and they all ready have a small one. They need more Origin, naturally and that's their next move. They're going from city to city killing off humans and Luxen all while trying to find the origin who live there. Of course they'll give them some story about how origin are the rightful owners of this planet, humans are weak, Luxen and Arum don't belong here, blah blah blah. Many will believe it while others will call it for what it is: bull. Anyway..." "Can you get straight to the point? I really hate it when people beat around the bush," Mrs. Summers said. "If I get interrupted one more time, I swear I will kick you all out and you can fend for yourselves. I'm not joking." Nobody spoke. "Um...Can I ask a question?" Bethany asked. Luc looked at her. "Go ahead." "You made it pretty clear there is small origin army planning on taking over and growing their army. We know that. But the question on everyone's mind is how are we going to fight back?" Luc didn't say anything for a while. He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. "Ok. I'm going to be frank with you guys. The only way to fight fire is with fire." "What is that supposed to mean?" Dawson asked. "I've got a pal who owes me a huge favor. So I'm cashing it in." "Oh my freaking God Luc. Just get to the flipping point!" Daemon yelled. "Like I said the only way to fight fire is with fire. So the only way to fight these origin is with other origin. My pal is creating his own little army. Of course we don't have near enough as needed but we've got a good start. Our plan is to counter the Coalition's plan. We grab the origin before they can. Get them on our side." "What are you trying to tell us?" Katy asked. Luc looked at all of them. "I want. No need your kids to be apart of our army." Nobody moved after Luc spoke. The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. "You snake!" Daemon yelled. "You just wanted to help us? Get us out of danger? Yeah right! You were using us the whole time! I knew it! I should listened to my gut and kicked you out of my house when I had the chance." "Listen to me Daemon.  I wasn't straight forward with you for a reason. I knew if I walked into your house asking for your kids to be apart of my army, you would have flipped out. Like your doing now." "Damn straight," Daemon said as he paced back and forth. "You really expected me to go along with this? Like hell I'm going to allow my son to go to his death just for the sake of your army." "You're not listening! You wanna know the truth? The truth is this origin take over is going to happen whether you like it or not. Your son, all of your kids, are going to have to pick a side. This isn't a choice! If you want to survive, you will allow you kids to fight. They're the only one's who have a chance of saving us," Luc said to Daemon. Daemon's green eyes flashed with anger. "This is so twisted! I'm taking my wife and my son and getting outta here." Dawson stood in front of Daemon. "Daemon wait." "You better get the hell out of my way, brother. I will hurt you." "Look, I know how you feel. I feel the same way. There's no way I want to send my Ashley to fight in some army but if what Luc is saying is true, then he's right." Daemon stared at Dawson in awe. "Have you lost your mind? Listen to yourself! These are our kids were talking about." Ashley, Kevin and Kelsey were still listening around the corner. Ashley tuned out the bickering coming from the sitting room. "An army?" Kelsey whispered. "Do they really want us to fight? I don't know if I can do this." "Hush Kels I can't hear," Kevin said as he leaned in. "What else are they saying?" Ashley asked. Kevin gave a play by play. "Your mom is talking now and it looks like she's telling them calm down. Oh crap Adam's dad just shoved your mom.  Snap! Your dad just punched Adam's dad. He's grabbing him by the shirt and saying don't you ever put your hands on my wife again. Final warning." "Oh my god. It's so intense in there," Kelsey said. "Guys I'm not sure if I want to listen anymore. I'm starting to get a massive headache," Kevin said. "Same. Let's just go," Kelsey said. "You ready Ash?" "Yeah, we should probably go check on Adam." The three walked back up the stairs to where Adam and Kevin shared a room. Adam laid on the bed on his side listening to music.  "Hey man what's up?" Kevin said. Adam rolled over and faced them. "Hey guys where have you three been?" "Around," Ashley responded. Adam shrugged. "You feeling better?" Kelsey asked while sitting down next to Adam. She stroked his hair and he smiled. "I'm better now that you're here." Kelsey giggled as Adam leaned in to kiss her on the cheek. "Don't mind us guys. No really. I'd love to sit here and watch you two make out," Kevin said while rolling his eyes. "Kevin I'm getting seriously tired of hearing your voice," Kelsey said. "Are our parents still talking downstairs?" Adam asked. "Yeah they're "taking" all right. More like a episode of WWE," Ashley answered. "What? Seriously? What are they talking about?" Adam asked surprised. "You don't wanna know man," Kevin said. "Hey let's see what's on TV," Kelsey piped up. She reached for the remote and turned on the television. She began to flip through the channels. "Ooo go back. Let's watch Supernatural. I love that show." Kevin said excitedly. "No Kev. I hate that show," Kelsey responded. "I didn't ask you. Come on turn it back." "Seriously? I just said no." Kevin folded his arms and looked at Adam. "You see how she treats me?" Adam chuckled. Kelsey continued to flip through the channels. "Wow there's nothing on," she said. "Except Supernatural," Kevin said under his breath. "I heard that," Kelsey said still facing the TV. "Wait. Go back to that news channel Kels. I thought I saw something," Ashley said. Kelsey went back a few channels and landed on the news. Adam sat up. They were all stunned. Images of their town flashed on the screen. It was in complete shambles. Roads and bridges were broken up into nothing but ash. Buildings were on fire and cars were overturned. Houses were destroyed and rubble was everywhere.  It looked like a tornado ran through the city. "How...how did this happen?" Kelsey asked. Turn it up Kels," Adam said. A young news reporter stood amongst the rubble. She spoke deliberately. "I'm standing here after police reported about 100 young adults rampaged through the town, destroying everything in their path. Witnesses believes we are under another alien attack and some say the teens used alien like powers of "light" to light buildings on fire and kill civilians. The CIA is investigating the claims and is looking into finding the mysterious teens. Currently there have been over 500 reported casualties but police are expecting to find more bodies under the rubble." "Oh...my...god..." Adam said. Kelsey gasped as a tear fell from her face. Kevin and Ashley remained quiet. "Police are saying this is unlike anything they've ever seen and are instructing those who have survived the attack to stay inside and lock all doors. The Red Cross is sheltering survivors downtown. If you or a loved one has lost a house in this bizarre and devastating attack, please contact the Red Cross immediately." All four of them sat there in silence as the news reporter continued. Ashley stared at the TV screen. She couldn't believe her eyes. Her home was completely destroyed. And what about her classmates? What happened to them? Seth, Joy, Derrick, Pamela. Did they survive or did they perish in the attack? Ashley was terrified. This was really happening. Oh god she felt so sick. She closed her eyes and realized that Luc had been right all along. If they had stayed they would have... She didn't finish that thought. What terrified her the most however was not the fact their homes was destroyed and there were crazy origin going around killing people. It was the fact she, Adam, Kelsey and Kevin might have to, no they would have to fight and if they didn't win, they may all die.
